Boatwrights...anyone been here?

ok, so we're only 6 days out! and we just found out a couple of days ago that we have enough to do a nicer dinner. of course, my first pick was California Grill, but they have no reservations at all for that night, which is to be expected when we are this close. We are going to eat an early-ish dinner and then go to the Poly to watch Wishes from the beach with some dole whip. biggrin

So we got reservations for Boatwrights because looking at the menu, my boyfriend was practically drooling. Anyone eaten here have any suggestions on what to get? Any advice would be great as we have never eaten here...or even been to POR...

Also, any advice about watching Wishes from the Poly? I've never done this before either... We want to get there early enough for the water parade because I've never gotten to see it up close.

I believe we're doing Boatwrights on our next trip, I'll have to check with DW though. I think it gets kind of the typical Disney restaurant reviews, some love it, some meh.

Wishes from Poly is great. If you want a hammock I'd get there early though.

MMMMmmmmm! Boatwrights! I've been there about three times and love it. They give you a bowl of corn bread which is so delicious. I like their roasted beet salad as an appetizer and their jumbalaya is great as an entree.

Overall, I wouldn't say it's one of the stand-out restaurants at Disney, but it has served me three enjoyable meals and I find the service and food reliable and tasty.

For watching Wishes at Poly, I enjoy the beach closer to the Grand Floridian because it's more private, but the view may be nicer over by the main pool area or further towards the TTC.

You definitely want to watch the Water Pageant from the beach between the main pool and TTC. Have an amazing time!!

We are eating at Boatwright's in May and I am pretty excited about it. The menu looks very yummy so I am interested to hear what you think about it.

I'm late to the party, but here's a guest review from Disney Food Blog, complete with some killer photos. Now I want to go!

Turns out we were in fact eating here. First night too! Did a review here:

Poppet's recommendations were spot on. My two favorite things!
