I'm all set to book for our trip next May...so far away..but right now Disney is only taking reservations through December of 2011. Any ideas when they will begin taking for 2012?
I just assumed they always booked a year out

I was able to book my October 2011 trip in August 2010.. Maybe the release rates for the full next year starting at that time..
We were able to book our June 2011 trip in September of 2010, we had tried booking in July and they were only allowing booking through December of 2010. Maybe in June or July you will be able to book then, if not I know September you can!
Ugh I hope so! I want to put my deposit down so I can start paying this bad boy off. And..er, find out how much it's going to cost to book the trip that is going to make up for cancelling this year so you know it's going to be awesome our vacation.
I'm so bugged that they won't let you book more than a year out/even plan on their site. We're going on the Fantasy in Aug of '12, but are forced to wait until Aug of this year to book the land portion and it's DRIVING ME NUTS...especially since I need to know how much $$$ it's going to be.
Does anyone have any idea why they do this?

Because they like to tortue the little people.
Haha. Really I believe it has to do with their pricing. They raise their rates every year so I guess it makes sense to wait and raise rates for 2012 at one time. It would be incredibly annoying if I wanted to go in January.
From what I've read (and if I remember correctly), you can book a room only 495 days out but you can't book a package for the following year until they release the prices for that year.
I found this on the Disneys Moms Panel.
