Bored need something else do to while I wait

I was wondering if anyone else feels like I do. I get bored once I have made my decision as to when and where I will stay when am going to Disney. I have done my ADR at 180 days out and I have picked our Magic Bands. Now I wait till am at 60 days out to do on-line check-in and our FP selections. So my question is what does everyone else do when there is nothing else to be done? I know we have the boards to read and make our suggestions on different things but still it doesn't seem enough for me as am a planner. And I love planning my Disney trips but I needs something else to help fill in the holes. Does anyone else feel that way?

I am a major planner!!! between me and my mam we try to keep going by sending each other little messages or pictures or countdown updates etc but on the planning side I'm a woman possessed I like to keep a check on the restaurants I intend to eat at incase the menus change, I also like to keep updated on what counts as a snack credit as we use the DDP (don't know if this applies to you or not?) other things I like to do is keep an eye on Disney website to see when the entertainment times show up in advance, some come on sooner than others and that keeps me going, I do still suffer from the "is it time to do......... yet!" but those few little things help me out and kill a few extra hours in the day as I have a very boring job!

Amy1989 thank you so much...I have never thought of doing that (as am the planner as well). I have tried to engage my girlfriend who is going with me in May as to what she wants as FP's (and I have sent her mine) but she still hasn't done it. And she is retired so arghhhhhhhhhhh. But I love what you do and yes this will help me as well am sure.

Kathys - see my mother doesn't manage to get out of ADR's and FP+ selections, I still live at home so she has no choice!!!

sometimes I even just sit and look at past photographs and think (I'll do that again this time)

Also I just remembered I do a to-do list for Disney, even if its obvious things that I do every year I divide it up into parks and then add to it as things come to me then when I come home I can tick everything off!!!

I have 8 hours a day to come up with these crazy things to keep me occupied!!!

Amy1989 am so glad you have answered my post...makes me think am not the only one like this. And I guess I wouldn't let me bother me that she is retired and hasn't done anything yet but it isn't just my vacation and I don't want her to tell anyone that I made all the decisions.

King Fergus...I really like that idea..however you have to remember I live with a man who isn't such a Disney person. sad
So I would have to think how I could get that to fly?

Hmm...Well my DW isn't a Disneyholic either...She enjoys it when we get there...Now what you have to do start singing a happy song ( from Enchanted ) and keep smiling...I sing " I've been dreaming of a true loves kiss " and it works with my DW..She says I'am crazy..She could be right...Mad as a hatter... laugh

well if I'm honest the only people that let me have my Disney talk are my mother (bless her soul!) and you guys on here and when I saw your topic I was like "oh my god that's me!" I understand what you're saying you want her to have her input as much as you do that's why its forced upon my mother because then I say "well you helped and you agreed!"

King Fergus i love your Disney Sundays at a previous job we used to have Disney Fridays and we have 2 Disney CD's that we used to play and when the phones weren't ringing dance around the office to!

I'll second all of this and then add that I also start planning the next Disney trip! My DH thinks I'm absolutely insane that I'm usually full on in planning for our next trip when we haven't even gone on the current one yet! But once I'm at a stand still for planning one I need a new one to plan.

I am always planning a Disney world trip. ALWAYS. My hubby and I go to WDW 15-20 weekends a year and usually one 3-4 day trip(About 30-35 days a year.) But I absolutely love planning!!! My life is just a series of lists biggrin

Once we had gone to WDW so many times, there really wasn't anything left for me to plan, but I missed planning the trips so much. The planning is almost as fun as going to WDW for me(everyone thinks I'm crazy laugh )

So this is what I came up with to still be able to have something to plan for our trips. I made a long list of little details that we have never done, or rarely ever do. It is amazing how many little details go into the enjoyment of every WDW trip(I'm preaching to the choir on this site awesome ) Then I just pick and choose from that list for each trip.

For example, we are going to WDW once, maybe twice crossfingers , in March. During our March 2014 trip or trips these are the choices I picked from my "detail list."

EPCOT: share a frozen strawberry margarita, ride a friendship boat to/from Epcot and HS, share a Caramel Cheesecake with Chocolate from Karamell-Kuche in Germany, and ride The Sum of all thrills.
MK: A Pirate's Adventure ~ Treasures of the Seven Seas(we haven't done this yet), a dole whip for Aloha Isle~we've still never had a dole whip eek and look for characters that aren't often seen or listed in character meet and greets(in February we found Clarabelle cow and br'er rabbit)

For me, still being able to plan little details for every trip, makes the days in between trips more bearable. Because I would LIVE at WDW if I could muchlove

Oh Kathy, I think we are so similar! Everyone teases me about how much I plan...but it's part of the fun for me and helps pass the time! So far I have our entire trip planned out, pretty much to the last minute. Smile Some of the things I play around with though to keep me entertained:

My daughter wants to be Elsa this Hallowe'en, and I don't like any of the costumes available for purchase. I think they look rather fake and child-like. So I have been looking around for patterns and material and I will be making her dress. Hopefully once I make it, she will still fit it come Hallowe'en this year! I also am planning out my costume, looking for the perfect dress, or debating if I am brave enough to make one for myself!

I make up packing lists, and I use polyvore to put together pictures of what I want to pack, and what outfits I will wear each day. I am a very visual person, and I like to see what it is I am thinking! I also get to do this for my kids too (my teenage son thinks I am terribly wierd!).

We watch a different Disney movie each week as "homework". Smile

But I would also love other ideas on what I can do to keep myself occupied!

Fergus, I do exactly the same thing with cooking and dish washing! I have a lot of park music loaded onto my iPad! (Specifically parks attractions music " Grim Grinning Ghosts, Yo Ho, Tiki Room, Main Entrance Music, Impressions de France, etc.) It's a fun diversion, and makes chores enjoyable!

I am the world's biggest Olympics fan, so for a good 18 days I hardly even thought about our upcoming WDW trip.

Now the Olympics are over sad So I'm back to obsessing about Disney stuff.

I just micro-manage every little detail. Go over it again and again and again. Think about it, update the packing and preparations lists, make sure everything is ready to go. And even start thinking about the trip after the next trip.

And of course, I watch as much Disney stuff on TV as I can, so that "Disney Week" on Destination America is very much appreciated.

But now, I'm going to go post my latest itinerary. We have FastPass+ all set!

Yah Crazycatperson I know am the same way Olympics held my attention for 18 days and yes I already have the DVR ready to record those Disney Week episodes. Can't read how you made out with the FastPass+ selections. And I thank goodness I found this site as it does help to keep me busy.

I don't know how important outfits are to you, Kathy, but I just occupied a good 2 hours of my time planning out all my outfits for my trip! So that's something you could look into if you're interested mickey

Wonderland Katie that is another good idea. The problem is I can't do that too soon because I will just keep changing my mind...so that is something that I will do the day before I leave. And yah it will take me about the same time..at least...2 hours.

Are you "crafty" at all? There's lots of crafty Disney projects I do to keep my Disney mind occupied in between visits. You could make Disney scrapbook pages, minus the pictures of course. You just put the pictures in when you get home from your vacation.
You could make a few appliques out of fusible web and fabric for t-shirts or bags, i.e., Mickey and Minnie head silhouettes or Mike Wazowski's eye. You can get as creative as you want to with these.

Kathy, if Excel isn't your thing, you can create a table in Word that's as complex and detailed as the Excel spreadsheets in those links mrhub posted (although it probably won't be as awesomely pretty).
