Budget Planning

My wife and I leave for WDW in just over two weeks (Sept 7th) and I'm trying to figure out how much money we need to budget for spending. (tips, MouseKeeping, adult beverages, souvenires and gifts). It's just the two of us, and my wife is DEFINITELY looking forward to having a few drinks, especially in World Showcase haha.

I usually start thinking of it this way and then adjust as I know where we're eating. It's usually $10 per drink I think I'll have, $5 a day for mousekeeping, $20 tip per table service meal ($10 at the Buffets). Souvenirs are hard, I always plan about $25-50 per kid I'm bringing something home for and give myself enough to buy a new purse. LOL!!

DITTO. We are on the same page Kristen. I always plan $5.00 a day for mousekeeping. $15-20.00 for tips on table service and 10.00 for buffets. Plan for $20 per table service and if you save a little then that is more for drinks or gifts.

I know we went overboard a little on our first trip, but we planned 100.00 per park for the three of us. That was 33.00 per person per park for drinks (sodas/waters), ice cream (snack/ dole whips), and a souvenirs. You have to keep in mind that this is disney. Water and sodas will cost 2.50 to 3.00 each, the small glasses of wine are 7.00-10.00 each and those are not big glasses from the Kiosk. Mickey bars, ice cream cones are 3.00-5.00, popcorn, so snacks and drinks can eat up a budget fast before you even get to the shops. My husband left his hat at the hotel one day so we had to buy a new ballcap was 20.00. He was there 11 hours 2 cokes, ballcap and a mickey bar was his 33.00 for one day.

The last 2 trips were adult only trips so we plan a little differently. My plan is almost carbon copy of Kristen's.

If you haven't done it already, I would go to allears and check out some restaurants and kiosks for prices and food/snack ideas.

That is how we plan.
