To Bus or Not To Bus?

When you have the option, do you find it easier to take Disney Transportation or Your Own Vehicle? It seems like it would be easier/faster/more efficient to take your own car, but I hear most things to the contrary. What do YOU think??

I don't usually have a car, so the Disney Bus is my primary transportation when in WDW. I have however been known recently to make use of cabs to get to places when I just don't want to wait.

To me it's just a case of "Take the bus and leave the driving to us". Just easier than driving and having to watch what some other distracted (because they are in WDW) driver may do.

Bus and or boat for sure. I like not having to worry about my own transportation during vacation. I also enjoy (usually) people watching and meeting while on the buses/boats. I also think that when you are staying on property, the cost of the transportation has to be somewhat calculated into the cost of the stay. I don't want to spend more money when I am already indirectly paying for transportation.

Disney bus for me. I like not having the added expense of renting a car.

Bus for us too. We fly in, and I don't want to have to deal with unfamiliar traffic, etc. I do all the driving at home, so it's a real vacation for me to leave the driving to someone else.

if i am in a hotel on the monorail, or at an epcot resort we don't rent a car, if not we always rent i hate waiting for the bus when the parks close, and also when we leave the parks sometimes we like to hit dtd on the way back and it is just easier to drive yourself

For us it is easier/faster/more efficient to drive our car. Its eaiser to lug all the stuff scrappy's bought around, faster out of the parks, more efficient, eh, but I go from point a to point b with nothing in between. I know the roads and the back way in so its faster then the bus goes usually.

We always do the bus, but you need to keep in mind that it is mass transit - there will be some waiting and some standing and some timing issues to keep in mind. For us it is easy because we tend to go with the flow.

The Disney bus system does NOT lend itself to quick connections or direct routes at times. When time is an issue or the route is too complex and time consuming, we have used taxis. We budget for them so can make that choice on the fly if we need to.

If you need/want more control, then by all means consider a car. Or bring one with you!! laugh

Bus and boat- I don't know those roads as well as the drivers and I don't want to park 5 miles away.

Not me. We're bus/taxi users. It saves the hassle and expense of hiring a car.

We use bus and boats... sometimes you will wait but to me it's more convenient. We fly most of the time anyway and don't want to spend additional money on a rental.

We always use the bus or the boats/monorail but it wouldn't let me vote for two options....It's just eaiser....Yeah its not always fun waiting in line....but not having to drive makes it the vacation part...we just went to pittsburgh over the weekend and Mase was just complaining how done with driving he was....but we've never had that complaint after a disney vacation Smile
