Calling the UK Red Telephone Booth..

I have to start off by saying that I totally copied this from another forum.. sarcastic

But..it was so cool I had to share. Apparently, you can call the red phone booth in the UK Pavilion by calling one of these three numbers:

(407) 827-9861

(407) 827-9862

(407) 827-9863

You are supposed to let it ring and if no one answers a noise like a fax machine would come on.

The responses I was reading on the thread were hilarious! Some people got chatty people who would talk about the weather & the crowds while other people got park goers who were convinced it was a joke.

I'm way to much of a wimp to strike up a convo with a total stranger...so which one of you all is going to try it?? biggrin

I've heard podcasts where they do this as part of the 'cast! They just call the phone booth and see who picks up! Smile

I'd love to try it someday...or stand outside the booth and wait until someone calls! Smile

there's a website that you can call via and it makes it about the same as calling in the UK, dont know it offhand though but i think that's how they called Smile

My wife and I will occassionally call the UK booth when we randomly think about it. A couple of months ago a kid picked up named Kolton. After a brief conversation, my wife asks about getting a beer at the Rose & Crown next door. His emphatic response...

"A BEER???!!! I can't get a BEER! I'm Kolton! I'm like eight years old!!!"

I think my wife meant to ask if his parents were at the Rose & Crown but it came out all wrong. Priceless.

Hi,

I just called (407) 827-9861 on my cell phone no more than five minutes ago. The phone rang once and came three "boot stampings" like people marching, and then a disconnect. The entire call took twelve seconds.

I haven't listened to it yet but I am so happy to know that mr.hub has a cheerful voice..because when I read his posts in my head I always read them with a cheerful voice because that's what I picture him having. Scrappy has one too..Lizzy talks like she's educated, Mase has a deep voice, Jeff has a northern twang and Jess has a happy voice. CarJust and JustCar are my favorites...they have such cute accents. Brad is very serious...I could go on and on....

Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this.

You know what. I think I can record a phone conversation on my iPhone. If I am able to... tomorrow ill call it, and Bella can find out if she is right or not. Im half tempted to talk like Stitch though and see what happens too...

I hope it won't prevent him from logging on here. Here's wishing him a speedy recovery. He's had enough operations that they are going to name a wing in the hospital after him. Good Luck Jeff. take advantage of it and let Joe wait on you while you sit there..

Hey, this is something Jeff can do while he is home. He can call the red phone booth over and over and over. That will not cost him anything so that will make Joe happy. A win win for sure!
