Can You Make a Day of Downtown Disney?

Does anyone ever plan a "Downtown Disney Day" while they're there? We usually go there for a couple of meals and maybe do a tad of shopping, but I think some people make a day of it. Does anyone budget a day for that?

Bad Brad! Please whisper this one, Scrappy might here you, although here ears are probably ringing already. We never tried to make a day of DTD. we do go for a meal or two, and always go shopping there. Actually , all the times we have been there, our last trip was the first time I think we went into the Lego store. I want to try the balloon, but Scrappy won't. I may be going solo on that one.

laugh Does this mean she DOES want to make a day of DTD or doesn't? I can't tell biggrin

I think that the Diana exhibit made it almost worth a day for us, but the newer stores down there just don't appeal to us as much.

Spaceace, she would spend a whole day shopping there, or at least window shopping!

I've been window shopping, but have never purchased any windows.

One thing I've always wanted to do is see a movie here. I know it sounds like a waste of time on a trip, but I always enjoy seeing movies in places I visit, but I rarely get around to it. I've never managed to do it, but I suspect it would be a good part of making a day of DTD. Have any of you guys seen a movie at DTD?

DW and I went to the movies at DTT about 3 or four years ago on a rainy afternoon and we enjoyed it very much. Of course I can't remember what movie we watched confused Even the snack bar (if i recall) was ahead of its time by serving combos like popcorn and a drink at a reduced price compared to if you bought them seperately.

Disney invented value meals?! eek biggrin Not surprising...

I've never seen a movie a DTD either, Brad, but I imagine that would go a long way toward making a day of DTD. Too bad Pleasure Island's gone -- I could spend the whole evening there.

I don't think I could make an entire day there, because I'm just not a shopper, but I could spend most of a day there. Lunch at one of their restaurants, followed by a matinee, then wandering around looking at things and taking pics, then dinner at one of their restaurants, then La Nouba.

good point about la nouba. you could make a day there if you got a late start. i'm not sure i could watch a movie and la nouba in the same day though. maybe too much sitting. the video games might work out for me.
