Can't miss things for Christmas

This will be our first year in the parks for Christmas while everything is up. We are usually there the first week of November so we leave just as everything is coming out.
I am going to see the gingerbread at GF, Beach club, and Boardwalk. I am going to try to see as many resort trees as possible. I have already seen Osborne Lights and can't wait to see the castle lit up.

I am looking to you guys to tell me which resort is a must do, other gingerbread or christmas displays that I may not know about. I want to see as much as I possibly can in the time I have there.

Any opinions on Yuletide Fantasy? I have heard good and bad.
Thank for your help.

AKL is a must do, the tree there is enormous they say. But I think we are going to try to hit ever resort when we are there this Nov.

We are going for Christmas for the first time too. I am so excited about this trip.
I have never heard anything about the Yuletide Fantasy one way or the other. We have a lot of things booked for this trip but not that. We do have MVMCP booked as well as the Candlelight Procesional. We have also never seen the Osbourne Family light show. It will all be new to us.
And I am with Jeff on this one....BRING ON CHRISTMAS!!!!
PS there are only 133 shopping days left.

We really loved the Tree and decorations at The Wilderness. Also, the American pavillion in Epcot has a nice Gingerbread house display and they sell cookies, hot chocolate and egg nog!

I love the Polynesian at Christmas time because I'm obsessed with celebrating without snow. LoL... I love seeing the wreaths and trees decorated in island style!

I have a friend who leaves her Christmas tree up until March....and it's a live tree! Thank goodness the local fire department is just 1000 feet from her house and her brothers are firemen. laugh

I spent 3 Christmases in Hawaii when I lived there. I wonder how the poly decorates differently then the islands do, but I will definatly check it out. Just like the Luau at the poly was a disappointment for me after seeing them in Hawaii.

YAY Christmas!

I will be there a few days before, and a couple of days after Thanksgiving. Mr. Hub, I too plan to see as many resorts decorated as I can. And I cannot WAIT to see Osborne lights, Scrappy....haven't seen them either. I was there on the actual holiday lots of years ago with the kids, camping in Ft. Wildness. Mickey left stockings on our camper door on Christmas Eve. Smile

So excited!!!

Don't forget to HAVE some gingerbread at GF, or wherever! We love going there to see the GF house and getting a couple of gingerbread men to bite the heads off of. . . Ask about freshness, though. Got a stale cookie once. Fresher is better!

OH! The gingerbread carousel at the Beach Club! That is a thing of beauty! AKL has a chocolate village near Boma, and I think Contemp has one.

Soak it all up!!! WDW holidays are the best!!

Santa

The *only* reason I do not have any Christmas decorations up yet is because we just put the house on the market last Thursday and Joe and our Realtor banned me from putting any such things up. THEN they made me "tone down" my Disney Room! Why not just tell me to stop breathing next!!

I did get out a few Christmasy things at the office just to spite them all...

WHO WANTS TO KNOW HOW MANY DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS?!!?

I always have to have the hot spiced wine in Germany, awesome on a nice cool night in December to get the Christmas feel going.

CHRISTMAS! Love!

We always make a point to see the GF and the big wreath at the Contemporary. But now I'm really intrigued to see the Poly and AKL. I bet Port Orleans is really beautiful too!

As for can't misses, I just love the Epcot Christmas stories (Pere Noel in France is beautiful), and I love the giant Nutcrackers in Germany! But my ultimate can't miss is the Candlelight Processional. I'll be picking out a night to shoot for soon. We normally try and go through the week, early in the season, and don't book the dinner package. It's always worked out.

I am dusting this post off because I am trying to decide on the Yuletide Tour. We all got so caught up gingerbread and resort deco I never found out about the Yuletide Tour.

Any opinions on the tour or is it worth the money?

If your into doing the tours and seeing behind the scene, they are all pretty much worth the money.

So now that Halloween is off of the table, I'm turning to the first week of December. It means missing some school before finals, but I love love love CHristmas and Disney. So it will be beyond amazing. Let's just hope my mom will approve of the dates I pick out this time Smile I will definitely be going to the three reosrts on the monorail for decorations, that's for sure. Then MVMCP for sure as well. The Osbourne light spectacular looks amazing.. I love stuff like that. I really really want to go during.a holiday season and this is going to work out good for us... As long as my mom approves. (fingers and toes crossed)

Ok Disney Christmas experts... question for you...I extended our trip by a day so we could go to MVMCP on Nov. 9th. I attempted to convince my boyfriend to saty until Sunday, but he denied me...LOL....here's my deliema....Friday Nov. 9th is the first night of MVMCP AND the first night of Osbourne's Spectaculr lights in HS...what do i do!? I must see them both! What time do they turn on the lights in HS? I have PH's so I know we can technically do both, but I also need to rearrange my dining reservations for that night... waiting confused crossfingers

So, any idea what time they turn on the Osbourne light spectacular in HS? Espeically opening night.... Ugh, Disney problems! LOL

I can't speak for opening night but I did go a couple nights after opening night last year. They turned the lights on around 6:00pm.
