The Celebration Trip Pre-trip Report

Figured I'd get going on this and it'll help with my Fastpass+ planning to see it all written out. crossfingers

DH and I will be going home to WDW for 10 days in September! yay The trip will be a combo celebration of my birthday and an early 10-year anniversary/2nd honeymoon.

So here it is so far.....

Day 1 - Early flight (staying in the flight city the night before) - Magical Express to the Yacht Club. This will be our first time staying at the YC and we're super excited to experience a new resort! After checking out the YC a bit, head to Magic Kingdom. Afternoon/evening in MK and dinner at California Grill. Not sure if the timing for seeing Wishes! from Cali Grill will work out, but if it does, bonus.

Day 2 - Epcot. Lunch at San Angel Inn and dinner at Restaurant Marrakesh. Illuminations after dinner.

Day 3 - Probably Hollywood Studios in the morning/early afternoon. Afternoon/evening at MK. Dinner at The Plaza and catch Celebrate the Magic and Wishes!

Day 4 - Animal Kingdom - Lunch at Yak & Yeti. Dinner at Sanaa.

Day 5 - Up in the air, either Epcot or Magic Kingdom. Dinner at Raglan Road and 9:30 showing of La Nouba.

Day 6 - Hollywood Studios. Dinner at Hollywood Brown Derby and catch Fantasmic! Possibly head over to Extra Magic Hours in Epcot.

Day 7 - My birthday!!! stars Magic Kingdom. Lunch at Be Our Guest. Maybe take the monorail to Epcot and stroll through on our way to dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. Then fun at Jellyrolls! yay

Day 8 - Sleep in, definitely! lol. Probably Animal Kingdom. Dinner at Jiko.

Day 9 - Magic Kingdom in the morning. Then maybe a quick stop on Hollywood Studios before Epcot in the evening for our dinner at Le Cellier. Maybe catch Illuminations again, since it's our favorite.

Day 10 - After I finish crying when I realize it's our last day....Epcot. Lunch at Beaches & Cream. Stroll around the YC and get last minute pictures. Bid Adieu to our favorite place on the planet. Board the Magical Express back to the airport and fly back to reality.

This will be our first experience with Fastpass+, so it's a little intimidating. But, I'll still have a good time with it. No matter what, we'll be in WDW! That's all that matters. mickey

I am getting hungry reading that great list of restaurants! That sounds like an awesome trip plan! Anything you haven't done that you are hoping to do this trip?

We may be there the same time as you. We will be there for close to 2 weeks in September too. We will be there for both my birthday and our 36 anniversary. You however have far more planned than we do at the moment. I think we have our resort reservation and one or two ADR's made.

We'll overlap a little, I think. We'll be there from Sept 6th - 15th (the 12th is my birthday). clapping LOL, I start planning our next trip as soon as we get home. Since our last trip was in 2012, I've had LOTS of time to plan. And since we don't go as often we have to be more "commando" about our trips. laugh

Oh yes, definitely! Staying at the Yacht Club is new. We've always stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, although Epcot is our favorite park. I think we're really going to love being so close. biggrin As far as food is concerned - San Angel Inn, The Plaza, Sanaa, Be Our Guest, Jiko, and Beaches & Cream are all new to us. I also HAVE to try at least one Croissant Doughnut. awesome Rides - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is new for us. And we've never checked out The Art of Disney Animation or Walt Disney: One Man's Dream, I'd like to rectify that situation on this trip. I also want to try Primeval Whirl, we've never managed to fit that one in (we both have cast-iron stomachs so no worries there). laugh We're also looking to spend more time in Epcot seeing all of the performers.

Made some changes to the itinerary and decided this trip was going to be just about the parks, no extras like La Nouba. We also upgraded to Club Level so we're looking at spending a lot more time at the resort than we usually do.

Day 1 - Early flight (staying in the flight city the night before) - Magical Express to the Yacht Club. After checking out the YC a bit, head to Magic Kingdom. Dinner at California Grill. Back to MK after dinner since it's open until midnight.

Day 2 - Epcot. Lunch at San Angel Inn and dinner at Restaurant Marrakesh. EMH at Hollywood Studios.

Day 3 - Hollywood Studios in the morning/early afternoon. Afternoon/evening at MK. Dinner at The Plaza.

Day 4 - Animal Kingdom. Lunch at Yak & Yeti. Dinner at Sanaa.

Day 5 - Epcot. Dinner at Rose & Crown.

Day 6 - Hollywood Studios. Dinner at Captain's Grill. EMH at Epcot.

Day 7 - My birthday!!! stars Magic Kingdom. Lunch at Be Our Guest. Maybe take the monorail to Epcot and stroll through on our way to dinner at Yachtsman Steakhouse. Then fun at Jellyrolls! yay

Day 8 - Sleep in, definitely! lol. Epcot. Dinner at Jiko.

Day 9 - Animal Kingdom. Dinner at Le Cellier. Possibly EMH at Hollywood Studios.

Day 10 - After I finish crying when I realize it's our last day....Epcot. Lunch at Beaches & Cream. Magical Express back to the airport and fly back to reality.

We're 45 days out today and we CAN'T WAIT! mickey

I'm so proud. DH just started the "Work Days until Disney" countdown on his own. It's official, I've managed to turn him into a WDW fanatic. clapping
