Cell Phone Advice

Anyone here an expert on smartphones? I'm sort of confused on the whole iPhone vs. Droid thing and wonder if there are other options I should know about.

I'm like you cdub, totally confused. All I know is iPhone is AT&T and Droid is Verizon. Other then that, waiting .

We've been doing some research, too, but it's come down to: everything offers a lot of the same benefits. The main differences:

AT&T drops calls, but the Droid is heavier and doesn't have as many apps...

Would love to hear what you come up with cdub. My head is swimming between blackberries, iphones, droids, palms, heroes, and more.

Just keep in mind that if you are into Disney-specific apps, you should seriously consider the iPhone. There are several out there that Disney fans just go ga-ga over, and I also believe that Disney has produced their own iPhone apps (thanks, Steve Jobs!).

Any specific apps come to mind, Zapperz? I know Disney's launched their own wait times apps and things, right?

Those look great! I wonder if there's a big list of disneyland/world iphone apps sitting out there somewhere. I tried to search the app store, but there are just too many apps to go through all of them.

I put the wait time app on my Ipod. Its pretty cool, but no hot spots in the parks so it's a mute point with that. Just wanted to check it out.

You had me excited there for a minute Mr Hub, until I realized that it doesn't do me much good without a connection. I'm very iffy on the iPhone, because of AT&T's service, but I do have iPods!

Yeah I dont want to switch to AT&T, I have verizon and I have been looking at the Droid phone. Looks like there are disney apps for that. I can't even use the Ipod Touch apps in our room because there is no wireless to connect to internet.

That is a bummer. Non-updating-wait-times aren't worth much, but did you like the interface? Is it something you would have used if you'd had a connection?

We went to check out the droid and droid eres/eris/eras (whateva!) today.

Woohoo. Welcome us to the world of smartphones. We both just got iPhones. Now we just have to figure out how to use them!

Walt Disney World wait times free from Phunware (has a pic of a frog) is the best app I have seen so far. Ride times are pretty accurate.
