Could you all please say a little extra prayer!

Hey all,

If you don't mind and you have a minute, could you all say a little extra prayer for our little fur baby "Kona" tonight. He is in the hospital and we are not really sure what is wrong with him. He got sick this past Thursday and he has not really ate anything since. They have done a ton of tests on him, and he has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease, but its the lump that showed up on his neck and the not eating that is the most concerning. He was admitted to the hospital yesterday and they started fluids and medication with IV's. It's really tearing our hearts out. You don't have to respond to this, just say a little prayer. Thanks!

Update post surgery - at 1100 am this morning, Kona was just starting to wake up from surgery so there is no real news how he is doing. The doctor said the surgery went well. The mass was connected to surrounding tissue, so he got a drain tube put in and he will not be coming home today. They will be calling us later today to let us know how he is. It's just a waiting game right now.

****Update Thursday 8/17/2017 ****
KONA IS EATING!!!!!!

He ate some chicken last night and some again this morning. His drain tube is still in and a considerable amount of fluid is coming out so they are going to keep him in the hospital one more night to keep giving him IV meds and he should come home tomorrow.

I will admit, and I don't care what anyone thinks, I have been so worried about my little buddy that when the Doctor told me he started eating last night I broke out crying I was so happy.

Judy and I are going to see him tonight at 5pm so we can give you a full report later tonight on his status, but it looks like our fur baby will be coming home tomorrow, We will keep you informed, Thanks all!

Kona busted out and came home tonight. He will have a significant battle scare and has a drain tube until Saturday but he started eating last night and when we got home tonight he ate a full meal and then wanted munchies all night. He took his pills no problem also.

prayers for your whole family. As a long time dog owner, we have experienced all the joy and heartache. Talking with others who understand can be very helpful. We want to hear about his progress and share your relief at his progress. The folks here have a lot in common, that is why it is a great place to share. Such wonderful news and prayers continue for Kona's recovery.

He is doing very good. He still has his stitches and will get them out on Wednesday 8/30. His drain tube was taken out this past Thursday. He is still on medication for the next month but is pretty much back to his normal self. He wants to run and play and rough house so bad but we still have to keep him pretty calm due to the stitches.

So glad to hear that he is starting to feel like his old self again. Such a rough thing to go through for so you and small of a dog.
