Counter Service Favorites..

I always love a good favorites thread!

With us being on the Counter Service dining plan when we go in May I am going to need some suggestions! We have been on the regular dining plan every trip since its induction a few years ago. So we usually only eat one CS a day and we typically have stuck with our favorites and not branched out. Now that we have 12 counter service credits to use we are excited to experiment a bit more. Here are our favorites..

Tangerine Cafe (my all time..number one..favorite place to eat counter service OR table service in all of WDW)
Pecos Bills
Columbia Harbor House
Earl of Sandwich
Flame Tree BBQ
Cantina de San Angel

Also, what do you think of these places? We've wanted to try them but we never have:
El Pirata y el Perico (if it's open)
Yak and Yeti
Tusker House
Cookes of Dublin (DTD)
Sunshine Seasons
Cosmic Rays

Any other suggestions of places we should not miss??

I had no idea that they served sweet tea on property!! I'm from the south and I am always jonesing for some sweet tea during out trips! It's so weird that it's not around all the time.

Cosmic Ray's is always a staple for us, but only because I always have to have a bacon double cheeseburger (my arteries don't speak to me for weeks after-wards).

Sunshine Seasons is great because is has such a wide variety and plenty of healthier choices.

We've only done the Yak and Yeti for sit-down, and it has always been a favorite for us. Great food.

Everyone loves Sunshine Seasons, but my experiences there have been so-so. Anything you recommend I try next time?

I'm pretty boring - I always seem to get the turkey sandwich on foccacia and it's always been good - fresh and filling.

I keep saying I will try something from the Asian menu, but every time, I end up right back at the deli counter.....

I do this too. I plan on trying something new right up to the point where I realize this is my only time to eat in a certain place and then I get my old favorite.

Yak and Yeti counter service is great! Also Sunshine Seasons!

I'd add in Wolfgang Puck Express -- do they take counter service credits there?

It's always interesting how even some restaurants you think are no good can become favorites if you find the right thing to order.

I get the Shogun combo. I'm not a sushi fan but I love teriyaki! I also love the environment...very relaxed for a counter service...especially when the Flower & Garden Festival is happening...we usually take a little time to look at all the Bonsai

Oh...we usually spend a fair amount of $$ in the Japanese department store. I have a modest collection of plates and bowls I've collected over the years. I also LOVE the gummy candy, although I've discovered it locally in our Asian markets so that "tempers" my shopping fever a bit! I get tickled by all the Hello Kitty merchandise too...LOVE Hello Kitty. Might have to spring for a lunchbox this next trip silly

I encountered fun stuff like the gummi burgers and hot dogs in our local Asian markets, before I ever did in WDW, but I still buy them in WDW just because that store is so much fun! Besides when I'm at home I can't really justify buying gummi candy, but when your'e on vacation anything goes, right?

I agree with you on the Japan store..we spend at least forty five minutes in there!

We haven't been in forever either Jim. How's the debt reduction going?

Starring Rolls bakery is offering more and more these days. It's becoming pretty reliable, too.

Hi everyone,

I'd run up one card pretty high and had to make a balance transfer last Saturday to pay off the balance. The other card, once at $7k, is now at around 3k.

I have no WDW plans over the next year and a half.
