The Cronut Has Landed At WDW..

Good Morning Food Lovers...I've just watched a video of this creation ( half croissant half donut ) which a baker in New York has created and are selling quicker than he can make them. ( check out the video on Disney food blog ) Now they are available in WDW...Has anyone tried one,and if so, are they as good as all the hype.?

Perhaps people need something a little more visual so that people know what exactly is cronut.

Anyway, I've never had one but I prefer my donuts sweet without the excess powdered sugar. I definitely like a glaze on my donuts and chocolate frosting works wonders for me. I don't know if the cronut is something I really want for breakfast. Croissants as a whole, they're okay but not something I should bend over backwards for breakfast per say.

Looks almost as good as KrispyKreme donuts. (which we do NOT have in this region.)

So apparently you can get this treat at Refreshment Port in Epcot for $4.49 not including tax. That's a bargain compared to the ones they sell in New York City where they can spike up to 40 bucks. whoopdedoo

Thanks to both of you for the kind and generous offer. and come March while at the World I may take up Mandy's offer. You know the old joke about a cop and donuts, well after retiring with 30 years of L.E. I certainly have visited my share of "local" donut shops. laugh laugh When I retired and was driving the drag race car hauler all over the country, when we went by a KK shop, we would sometimes stop and get a dozen 'hot ones' and put it between the driver and co driver and we could usually finish MOST of them. eek

If you ever come down to CT, there's one at Mohegan Sun.

Ok, upon further review, I stand corrected. Oups The bakery that offers them in New York charges $5 for them (Not including tax) but apparently, they run out very quickly because of well, demand. Apparently, people are using the black market to deliver these cronuts and one offered to deliver to Brooklyn citizens for $40 per cronut.

Interesting.......Cronut, might have to put it on my list for my next visit. I know Starbucks in the UK have introduced The Duffin!!! Cross between (u guessed it) a doughnut and a muffin. Big and shaped like a muffin but with a doughnut texture, sugary top and filled with jelly.
