If you had told me a few days ago I'd be sat in my Nan's house in a small town outside of Belfast, I wouldn't have believed you! Not really a happy reason to be here but I am happy that I can be here to help.

My nan fell in church on Sunday, she was nattering away and missed a step! she's fallen and broken her arm between the elbow and shoulder, of course it had to be the right one... My nan is from this town Carrickfergus, but they moved to England when my dad was a child and only moved back here after I was born, leaving her children in England. So she had no one to look after her Sad she has siblings but they are all older with their own lives (although they have been wonderful!) my dad has no leave left and plus with my mum being poorly it's not really that practical for him to come, he did want to but I insisted I come instead, my aunt is coming over on Sunday to take over until Friday when she will *hopefully* be flying over to us as she would have been before the accident. She's still in hospital but hopefully she can come home tomorrow, they didn't want to let her out until they had sorted the pain out as she's really suffering, and my nan doesn't like to make a fuss Sad

I do feel a bit helpless, I'm sat in her lounge without her here! I hate being here under such awful circumstances but I do love to be here at the same time, it's such a beautiful town by the sea. Can't go up to the hospital till tomorrow lunchtime so I'm going to take myself off for a walk into town in the morning. Feels like home here even though I've never actually lived here, silly really.

No real reason for my post other than I'm a bit lonely lol and wanted to tell someone.

Ah thank you guys so much! I'm watching 2 weeks notice, Hugh grant is keeping me company Wink hehehe

Hopefully nan will be home tomorrow so I can look after her. Already have a special thing for her bed and the toilet to help her up and down. Feels weird being in her house without her though I've had so many calls and visitors already from neighbours/friends offering to help it's lovely, people really are so different here from back home! So nice and kind!

Well first let me say,I hope shes doing ok..Carrickfergus eh!...There's something...Monday 30th December,my band are playing in Port Patrick, which is right across the Irish Sea from Carrickfergus in Scotland...( Spot it on Google ) I'll sing " I'll tell my maw when I get home, the boys won't leave, the girls alone." And dedicate to her..She'll know that song...Wish her a Merry Xmas and a happy new year..Tell her to listen out that night around 11.00pm..She might just hear us...LOL..

Thank you so much everyone for all the positive thoughts!

King fergus, that's such a lovely thought, thank you very much! Not sure she will be able to hear but only cause all being well she will be in surrey by then fingers crossed Wink

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, as soon as nan was out I've been a busy bee as she can't do anything for herself at the moment. She was given the all clear to come home yesterday morning at 11am and we were still at the hospital at 7:30pm waiting for all the release papers! Not funny, and then the only reason we ended up with it all was cause my dad was on the phone from England getting on to them... We didn't know that at the time though, he told us after we got home. Got nanny showered and some dinner and into her own bed and she was very pleased. She didn't sleep much but better than being in the hospital. The walk by the sea was wonderful, I'll upload pics from my mobile in a sec.

Got the pictures uploaded,

My nan lives very close to the sea. I found a seat and sat just taking the world in.

This is carrickfergus castle.

A ferry in the distance.

One of the walls in the town centre, this is all painted!

And this is just to make you giggle, gatwick is a huuuuuuge airport south terminal alone had near 100 gates, and what gate was my gate opposite? But of course....

Thank you so much to my wonderful friends for thinking of me and my nan. It really does mean an awful lot to me,

My nan is feeling a bit sorry for herself today, she's not sleeping as she can't get comfortable and she's still in a lot of pain. She has lots of friends and family who are calling on the phone or popping over, I'm getting to be like Nan's pa answering the phone and the door Wink so pleased there are so many people looking out for her.

I'm coming home tomorrow as I have so much to do before christmas, presents I still haven't bought or made (making a table runner and some oven gloves for a few people) and I was panicking that I wouldn't get it done (plus when I don't work I don't get paid and I already had some time off this month due to being poorly). Nan is flying over on Friday as she was anyway and she needs someone to stay and fly back with her, so my aunt said she would come over to relieve me so I could get my bits done, and she will fly back with her. Nan is worrying she is going to be making a pain if herself over with us at christmas but we are busy telling her to shhh! She never likes to be a bother, she's so lovely. She keeps telling me I'll be pleased to go home for a rest from looking after her.... As if Wink

Well I'm at the airport now waiting for my flight home. Nan is doing better today. My aunt is flying out in a few hours time and my great aunt is going over to see her in the middle so she isn't on her own, and she will get her some lunch. Nanny is flying over to my parents on Friday for christmas and will be well looked after between them and myself as I only live 20 mins down the road. I may well be coming back depending on how she is, I might have to fly home with her and look after her again after christmas but will cross that bridge when we come to it.

Thank you so much everyone for your kind thoughts, I know I said it before but it really does mean an awful lot to me that you care xxxxx
