My D23 magazine issue came yesterday and I couldn't put it down! I read cover to cover and wanted to share in case anyone was thinking of joining that now is a good time because it's a great issue! For the 40th anniversary it details how they went through covert processes to acquire all the land for Disney, how the concepts came about and how the park was formed from beginning to end...complete with photos! They also have an article and photos dedicated to old, extinct attractions. It continues to discuss the ideas and beginnings for the other parks. It was very cool to read and had neat quotes from walt during the building process. It really shows how ahead of his time he was. His "environmentality" has saved 150 million for the company over the years when being environmentally friendly wasn't even popular back then. The photos from opening day were amazing, too! I'm still trying to unpack, but I can post some facts or interesting tidbits later! Anyone else read this?
