The Deal with My Daughters

I've recently told my daughters (ages 12 & 18 that haven't even been on a date) that I'll pay for an Escape Package Wedding at WDW. However if they want a Wishes event that they will have to pick up the slack on their own. LoL... Not that I'm pushing them towards a Disney Wedding or anything. They seemed to be down with it, at the same time as rolling their eyes at me. My son, is *big* into the Disney Wedding thought, I told him to be sure to find a girl who loves Disney as much as we do. LoL...

So what about all of you out there that are parents? Would you push your adult children towards a Disney Wedding so you knew that you'd have a great time? Or am I just that desperate to sneek in extra Disney time?

I would just push the boyfriend towards a long ladder (think elopement) it would be a heck of a lot cheaper for you. And also you could put that saved up Disney wedding funds X2 for twelve year old and eighteen year old, to a GREAT vacation for you. Smile

I told my mom to start saving up for a Disney wedding. She might have thought about it if my stepdad hadn't started laughing hysterically.

I don't think a Disney Wedding cost all that much more than a comparable wedding in your hometown, especially if you live in a city. The trick is the guest list. But isn't that always tricky anyhow? LoL... The escape packages are pretty reasonable.

I was at a conference last year where they said that the average wedding Costs about $30K -$50K, and in the New York City are it's more like $75K. Disney can get it done for much less than that!

My husband and I just went to the courthouse, we wore something already in our closet. I think I spent about $150 total. However, I've always wished that we had a Disney Wedding. LoL... it's a good thing I raised "Disney Kids" who won't fight with me over theirs. laugh

That's what I'm thinking...you two should do a vow renewal! wink

I think my husband would push our children on to a Disney wedding more than I would. I loved having it in our hometown and being able to invite all our friends and family. We are seriously looking into a Disney Vow Renewal though for our 10 year anniversary though.

My daughter is 3 and saw the Cinderella carriage in a Disney Wedding photo and asked her Daddy if she can have that when she grows up. So I'm sure we are going to have in a Disney Wedding in the future.

My son is only two so we aren't there yet..however my mom pushed a Disney wedding big time! She eloped so she liked the idea of having it one place and making it easy to plan. Unfortunately, I wasn't agreeable with that. I wanted all my friends there and I knew they wouldn't be able to make the trip.

A friend of mine had a Disney wedding and it was gorgeous! I didn't get to go because I was 8 months pregnant at the time but I lived vicariously through pictures.

Ryry, if he was asking about it you may not have to push all that hard! LoL... is there a cast member discount?

I would LOVE to do a vow renewal, and if we weren't trying to relocate would probably get right on it. Maybe after we move in a couple years. My vacation budget for 2013/14 is a big fat $0 due to trying to save for the move. Those are going to be two very long years.

I would love to have a Disney wedding, and cost wise, it'd probably work out the same, if not cheaper depending on PS for $ exchange rate! My current long term BF though would never ever EVER allow it Sad He's just not that into Disney lol!

I admit I'd still try and push for one though haha!

Gosh, I hadn't thought about it...but it would be the best of both worlds, because it would be local for us! However, I'm sort of a cheap skate and a DIY, and I think I could save a ton of $$ if we had DD's wedding at the beach or similar...Hmmm...she's 7 so I think I have a little time to plan mickey

Thats what I'm thinking! I sure hope so! I'd kind of have to laugh if we did though because the department I work in provides the horse and Cinderellas coach to the weddings that want it. It would be slightly ironic....

My fiance and I, looked at having a Disney wedding. If my heart hadn't been set on having all my friends and family with us, then we probably would of gotten married one of the cruise ships. Sometimes living in Australia can really suck mad laugh

So instead, I have opted to make our wedding as Disneyfied as Adam will allow it!

I've been trying to get my mom to go to Australia for a long time. It's her dream destination. Maybe you guys can trade for a bit? laugh

Yeah I when you mentioned it I thought it would be cool since we will be down there for our ten year anniversary but all of them are like actual weddings that I could find and the cost is like 2500...
