DFB Snack Guides

Has anyone purchased any of the DFB Snack Guides? Like most people here I love me some snacks muchlove . Do you think it's worth buying the guides or should I just continue to stalk the DFB website? Is there more information and snacks in the book or is most of it covered on the site?

I didn't mean to offend AJ or anyone else with my post yesterday. As I said, I enjoy all of the work that she does and have goneas far as to purchase the general guide to WDW dining. All the review, especially on the site, are always fun reads. We'd be missing a part of the Disney "oonline kingdom" if it wasn't for AJ. Her appearanceson WDW today are also the best (:

I have them all and they are the bomb! I used my MK Snack guide all the time while we were there last month. That was significant because even though I have the full DFB guide I don't really use it while on my trip, just for pre-planning. The snack guides are small enough to be super easily searchable and useful right there in the park and can help you find what you want right when you want it.

Do it! Order them!

To be honest, I love AJ, but she's wayyyyy too nice, so all of the restaurants sound fantastic. It's hard to judge.

You've got to remember that AJ is not a "food critic" but when she is disappointed in a review she does let you know. She strives hard to not quantify something as good or bad - but offer an overview of the experience to let the reader decide for themselves if it's something they might like. It's a journalist thing vs. being a critic.

We do the same thing here at WDWFG. There are so many different types of people, who have different tastes, and travel styles that go to Walt Disney World it's very difficult to write for such a broad spectrum. You have to offer an overview, because the specifics (especially when dealing with food) can change at the drop of a hat. I think AJ has done an amazing job with the guides putting together information that no one else offers all in one place.

Just my .02 -- take it for what you paid for it.

Agreed on AJ - I want to go to WDW with her - she seems just fun. silly

But on the topic of personal preferences, not only are we all different, even our own tastes change from trip to trip! I liked things this trip that I did not last time, and vice versa. awesome

I love everything AJ does and she's a delightful person! Like you said, it'd be cool to spend a day at Disney with her. She seems fun for sure! And I can understand where both of you are coming from! I go to Unofficial Guide if I want a harsher critique or an honest opinion, not an overview.

I've always enjoyed the DFB Food Guides, very informative. I have always noticed that AJ is honest when writing her posts. Sure, she may be a fan of most of the items but I always remember when she does make a note in a post of something she didn't like. I too would like to go to WDW with her for a day, LOL!

Spook, you can't go wrong with the Snack Guides, the Holiday Guide, or any of the other Park-specific guides that they've published. Their new one, for example, is geared toward Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, which is perfect for me, because they're the parks where I'm not as familiar.

You dump any of the guides onto your e-reader or tablet, and can read them anywhere. If you're connect to the Disney Guest Wi-Fi, you can click on any of the links within the guide and they will take you straight to a lengthier post about on DFB about that place. So, it's helpful whether you're connected or not, as long as it's loaded to your reader!

AJ is the best of the best. There have been many come along since her and try to duplicate what she's done on DFB, but there's just no comparison. She's real, she's honest, she's nice, and she's funny, all attributes that totally float my boat. She is the real deal!

I kept thinking that while I was there in June, and then it published right after I got back! LoL!!
