Digital Photography: Do you edit?

Do you edit your photos? What programs do you use? Do you spend a lot of time fixing your photos? Or do you prefer to keep them as you took them?

I don't do much editing, sometimes I'll try and brighten up a shot, or make it a little sharper, but in general if I don't love the shot to begin with I don't try to fix it.

I also don't usually take a shot and think about the ways that I could edit it. I don't do HDR, I'm a pretty traditional photographer, just using a digital camera.

How does editing fit into your photography habits?

Depends on what I'm doing to be honest. Usually they go untouched. If I wanna get creative I use Photoshop. If I'm just doing a touch up... I use Microsoft Office Picture Manager. Simple, easy to use program for touching up photo's.

I will usually brighten up photos and adjust but I don't do any major editing. I am using PicMonkey lately and love it. I need to splurge and buy Photoshop.

I don't edit any of my photos, to me if it needs editing, it needs deleting. wink

I usually only edit my photos if I take them with my phone. Then I use one of those cheesy little photo editing apps but sometimes they do help.

I tend not to edit beyond the odd bit of cropping unless I need to create something special. Then I will use either paint.net or GIMP.

I have no real photography skills, so I rarely edit. I may crop a head or two out of a scenic shot, but if I don't like it, I delete it. In a pinch, Photoshop has a free editing program online, (I think it's called Express), and I've used that once or twice.

I never edit my photos. Although that may be because I don't know how confused

I never really edit a picture. Might crop it or cut something out, resize them to upload here , but thats about it. I use different lenses or different filters.

I do minor edits in Aperture or iPhoto. I leave the super important edits to the boyfriend who uses Aperture as well.

It depends.. I edit almost all my photos but it can be anything from darkening (or lightening) a spot of a snapshot of something to a full edit of one of my art images. I use Photoshop but I would love to upgrade to Lightroom.

I often edit, and I use Picasa. Most of my photos benefit from warming up a bit.
