Disney Airlines?

Just having some fun with this, but if Disney decided to run an small airline, do you think it would "fly"?

I mean think about it... they're already in the cruising business.

Imagine what an airliner would look like given the Disney treatment. I don't just mean the paint job outside, I mean the whole interior is Disney themed.

Then they could serve Disney favourites for snacks and meals. And of course, the duty free selection would be Disney merchandise.

The cabin crew would wear Mickey Ears of course. And of course, you would use a Magic Band to board the plane and make purchases. mickey

And, this might actually work since people are willing to pay a bit more for Disney stuff like cruises etc.

Then, no matter where you fly, you could make Disney a part of your trip, even a boring business trip. They could concentrate on routes that have frequent traveler to Disney's parks, like major US hubs and the UK.

Hmmmm... it would be interesting.

I would fly them. And their frequent flier program would be called "pixie dust miles".

We're flying Westjet too in September so hoping for us as well. crossfingers When we flew out of Toronto in April, the Westjet Disney plane was at terminal 3, so it is possible!

That would be fantastic! Would the flight attendants be princesses, princes and pirates?!

I would most definitely fly on a Disney airline. They could show Disney movies and have sing-alongs all while serving Mickey pretzels.

'Cap'n Hook here...we be flying Disney Airways to Orlando, over crocodile infested lagoons and swamps...'

'Peter Pan here...all you need is a little bit of pixie dust. Now off we go...off to Neverland...!!'

'Buzz Lightyear here at Star Command...you are all toys about to fall all the way to WDW...with style!'

And if the plane crashes, they could take all the bodies to Celebration Hospital! (nobody dies in Disney)

Seriously, I could see it. Making reservations at the 11 month mark if you stay on Disney Property or seven months otherwise. Picking your meals six months in advance. Fast Passes for window seats. Scanning magic bands for boarding. And if the plane is late....it's just Extra Magic Hours.

Love it! I was so bummed when I found out that WestJet only flies out of Canada.

Yeah...no. I think it would be awesome for long flights, for those of you coming from the UK or the western USA or Canada, but for us it's just a 2 1/2 hour flight so there wouldn't be all that much time for extra magic. I think I'd rather fly Southwest for cheaper.

It'd be a nice idea but I can only imagine how uncomfortable it may be being surrounded by families and kids in a tiny narrow tube in the air. At least on the cruise ships, there's a lot of kids but there are large kids clubs and play areas for them and there's also adults only areas of the ship so the ship spreads out people and makes it more comfortable and enjoyable. Not the case for an airplane.

Hahaha... all I can think is that the Disney association didn't really do much for Eastern Airlines.

That pretty much describes all our trips from Toronto to Orlando. By the time they finish boarding families with young children, there are usually only about 10 people left to board. laugh It's usually not too bad, except for the trip with the shrieking 3 year old. Yes, 2 1/2 hours of non-stop shrieking. eek A little pixie dust would have been appreciated.
