Disney Cruise Line Forum

There is such a wealth of experience with the Cruise Line on this board that we felt it was only right to add a thread for its discussion.

Great idea. We have just booked a Western Caribbean and are looking for lots of advice.

Hey, really glad to see this forum added! We'll try and help however much we can, as my wife and I have been on five Disney Cruises. (3 night, 2 - four nighters, the Western Caribbean and the Eastern Caribbean).

I don't claim to be an expert, but we're adults without kids that go on Disney Cruises, so maybe we can help.

I've asked my friends from England who REALLY know the ins and outs to join us here. If I can get them involved, you'll have the best resource I can imagine to get your info from!

Good morning!

I have been on two Disney cruises and one non-Disney cruise:

October 10-17, 1994 aboard Regency Cruise Line's Regent Sun, seven-night cruise to the eastern Caribbean (St. Thomas, St. Kitts, and St. Maarten/St. Martin).
December 3-7, 2006 aboard Disney Cruise Line's Disney Wonder, category 7 stateroom #7626, four-night cruise to the Bahamas.
December 2-6, 2007 aboard Disney Cruise Line's Disney Wonder, category 8 stateroom #5516, four-night cruise to the Bahamas.

Regency Cruise Line went out of business in 1996. The two Disney cruises were solo.

Anybody remember the FIRST 'Disney Cruise Line'? This was back when the Disney Cruise was the "Big Red Boat". Disney had a partnership with Premiere Cruise Lines to handle their cruises.

I took a four night BRB cruise in the mid 80's. It was my first cruise, and was fun, but it certainly didn't have the magic of the actual Disney cruises offered today.

Here's another reason to take DCL over other cruise lines. Disney is one of the few (maybe the ONLY) cruise line that has authority to stay in Key West until after dark. If you have ever been to Key West, you know that sundown is a HUGE party on the pier there! Most of the ships have to leave late afternoon before the celebration, but DCL stays late so that you can enjoy one of Key West's most fun, and memorable events. That works out great, since the ship is docked about a block from the pier celebration!

I DO remember the "Big Red Boat!"

I'm always skeptical of things when they're branded "Disney" but not run by Disney, though. Not that they've ever been reluctant to put their name on stuff.
