Disney Flashes

I think you all will probably understand this..but with a trip coming up in a few months I have been thinking a lot about Disney lately. Of course. But every once in awhile I'll have a flash of just a random place in the world and remember how stinkin' happy those places made me. Do you guys get those? I can just be thinking of something else and then all the sudden I have a random flash of that alleyway in between getting off the bus at Epcot and walking up to the gate..right near that little souvenir stand. My flashes are weird. I am sure most people would be on Space Mountain or something.

Do you get those? Or am I insane?

Well, yes, you are insane Bella. NEXT QUESTION! laugh laugh muchlove laugh laugh

I do this alot. Poor Joe. We'll be driving along or walking the dogs or just talking and I will suddenly throw out a random place at Disney that just popped into my head.

It is usually met with an eye-roll and a request to change the subject and stop being such a freak.

I have dreams about being at Disney. They are so real that I feel like I am there and its usually something random like a restaurant or resort. Then I wake up and am so mad. I just want to go right back to sleep and in that dream.

I often flashback to this smoking section in DHS. (DH is a smoker) it was near the front of the park by a car. We sat there one night during EMH for like 30 minutes just talking and people watching. There was no one else in the section with us so it was quiet. I really like that spot a lot.

Bella, I do that all the time. My husband calls WDW my happy place, both when I'm there and even when I'm not. I often just think of WDW and something fun we did. Most recently it was last night while we were out to dinner with friends. We were talking about how warm this winter has been so far (except for today - its only 12 degrees this morning) and my head immediately went to walking around the food & wine fest and enjoying a cold Sam Adams Festival Ale.

Oh I do this all the time. I think I drive my husband nuts and my co-workers. Last night my husband told me I am Disney! He was talking about the movie The Alamo and sure enough I started talking about frontier land and Daniel Boone and Davey Crockett and then Crockett tarvern and then all the great places we are going to eat and so on and so on. We are leaving to go in two weeks and two days....the closer it gets, the more I talk about it.Everything he talks about I find something Disney in it. muchlove muchlove muchlove

Scrappy & I do this, but the scary part is one of us will start talking about something in WDW and the other will say "I was just thinking about that!" Its really freaky when that happens. I guess after 32 years of blissful married, we are connected.

Wow, I just got home from a rough day at work, had a martini, and ya know, its pretty freaking hard typing with a good buzz on! Think I drank that martini a little to fast! biggrin biggrin banana

Oh Bella . . . You are in good company! I often have flashes of sitting at Downtown Disney, somewhere along the water sipping a cool beverage, or at the MK, sitting near the flag pole, soaking in the Disney and people watching.

I'll do this and start talking about it like everyone around me just saw it too. Then I realize the entire family is staring at me with a confused look on their face. I'll have to go back and explain what the heck I'm talking about, they all just shake their heads at me and look kinda like this waiting then go on with the with whatever the "real" conversation was. laugh

I have them daily. Something always reminds me of Disney. Always thinking of a new place to eat or stay. Daydream a lot of being on Main Street USA, just soaking everything in.

Yes. Like Kris said, Disney is one of my happy places. When I think of it, it's usually doing something mundane, like walking through World Showcase before it opens. I'm also slightly bewildered when I see others' pics of Disney vacations on FB or something. The thought is something like this: "how did they know about that giant fountain in the middle of Epcot? That's MY place!" And then I have to remember that millions of people have been there Smile

Everything makes me flash back to random Disney places or things or quotes from rides....the people at work tease me all of the time!

Mine appear as 'out of the blue' comments.

My wife will send an email, "Having a bad day! How about going somewhere for a drink?" and I'll respond, "Smithwick's at Ragland Rd.?".

Or she'll text and ask "what are you thinking for dinner?" and I'll answer, "Mulligatawny at Boma?".

Those memorable experiences get blurted out, almost uncontrollably.

I wouldn't call it insane, I'd call it wonderful. Just like a chili dog at Casey's. (Damn, I did it again).

I do this too! A friend of mine just got back and she posted a picture of her family having dinner at Rose and Crown and my first reaction was, "How does she know about that place..that's MY place?"

Error.
