We looked at this with our travel agent and to get the $200 gift card, the price of the package actually went up by $200

Crazy!
I was looking into the discounts that are out and trying to decide which is better..the gift card or free dining (at a value). Not that I can go when the gift card is offered but that's just the nerd in me.

Wow! Very strange! I wonder if that's the case for all the dates, or particularly the ones you were interested in. Also, sometimes the value can change based on which hotel you're staying in. I wonder if that had an effect! Thanks for sharing!

Isn't that how most Disney deals always work out? You save $200 here but it costs you $200 somewhere else.
