So Disney's apparently "buying out" a lot of director level plus employees. Do you guys think this will affect service at all?

Director level plus? Sounds like middle management to me. That probably won't affect service at all.
The thing that upsets me about this is knowing that Robert Iger got $38M in compensation last year. So he gets more millions in 1 year than one person needs in 5 lifetimes and other people are losing their jobs??? Yeah, that's fair.

I think as long as the majority of CMs stay I'm happy. I think they do such a good job and would be hard to replace.
@cdub: Are these Disney Parks employees or other Disney Company employees?
@SoloFriendly: That IS frustrating. And we're seeing so much of it come out of the woodwork with the financial circumstances. I'm always shocked at how much people are getting paid at the top (especially when there's so much corruption).

Just saw in wdwnewstoday speculation that Disney will be laying off lots of low-level cast members as well in the coming weeks. Can't imagine the mindset around the parks while that's going on...cast members will surely be distracted, if not downright angry!

Yeah that's what I'm worried about. It's hard to be peppy when you're worried about your job. Also it seems likely that they let a bunch of great CMs go and then when business picks back up they don't have the same quality.
From what we heard from CM's around the world, cause yes, we talk (or more specifically Andrew initiates conversation and I jump in...I'm the shy one) to every CM we come across, and from the rumors they have heard it is mostly upper level CM's that need to fear for their jobs.
It makes sense if you think about it, the upper level CM's are going to make a lot more money, so they can let go a few and save a lot of money. Andrew just saw the same thing happen at Verizon a few months ago...management always makes more.
But we'll see what happens. I just hope that Disney is smart about things...they seem to be doing well despite the recesion...they need to continue to keep customer satisfaction as their number one goal.
Lower level CMs barely make anything at all do they?
