Disney Resort Help

We're a young couple looking to go to Disney World in September/October. We have no children so therefore we're looking for a resort that will be more comfortable for adults only. However we are on a tight budget, and our looking at moderate resorts because I have only stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter and Caribbean Beach, he has never been there. My question is, does anyone have personal experience staying at value resorts without children, or going to the moderate resorts during this time? Any advice you can share as we attempt to plan our trip? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the boards! Having been to WDW many times, my personal feeling is there really are no clear leaders as far as adult focused resorts. My husband and I do not have any children, and we enjoy staying at Port Orleans French Quarter because it is quaint and even a bit romantic. We have also stayed at All Star Movies and found it to be perfectly adequate. Pop Century is a great value resort, but it is definitely more family oriented. Lots of kids! I guess it will come down to what you want to spend. The crowds are definitely lower after school starts (in September/October) so that's good!

September and October are better than some other months as far as kids, but they're still pretty common even at the best of times. I will say that we tend to have less noise and aggravation problems at Moderates than Values (we tend to like CSR), but I'd also say we routinely stay at POP with no real problems.

Overall I wouldn't say we worry too much by being bothered by kids, as long as we stay away from rooms near the pools.

Have you figured out what activities you'd like to do?

(P.S. Welcome to the boards!)

I would recommend Coronado Springs for a moderate resort without kids. It is a beautiful resort and at night it lights up for romantic walks on the pathways. Cafe Rix is a really nice lounge that you could enjoy. It doesn't have that overwhelming Disney everywhere feeling which provides and nice break from the parks and adds to more of an adult feeling.

My hubby and I went to Caribbean Beach during October 2010 and we don't have kids. Suited us just fine. Great on the budget and also didn't really find that the amount of children around was overwhelming.

Coronado Springs Resort is your best bet for least amount of kids at a moderate. Families seem to really love Port Orleans Riverside/French Quarter and Caribbean Beach.

My husband and I stayed in Pop Century on our last visit and we hardly saw any kids. We were pretty close to the "computer pool" and it was still rather quiet. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Welcome to the awesomest forum ever! yay My bf and I are in the exact same boat...both in our 20's def no kids..We went last year in April and stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside. We looooved how romantic it was! Honestly, I cant say there were a ton of kids there but it could just be me overlooking them due to being on a "Disney High!" We are going in October this year and staying at the Coronado Springs Resort. From what I hear its much more adult friendly with their awesome night club thing.

Welcome to the boards!

We have stayed at Value resorts many times without children, mainly ASMovies. We were usually out all day at the parks so we really didn't come across them at the resorts except for the pools.

For moderates, I would definitely try Coronado Springs or Port Orleans French Quarter! We did POFQ for our honeymoon, very quiet and romantic!

Welcome to our little slice of home on the web hmusser! We're always happy to help people out here. Just beware, there will be many opinions and many different opinions.

We have stayed at a value resort, one of the all stars, in 2003 and we did not like it at all. But I know may people here are just as happy to stay there as we are to stay at SSR or the Polynesian. I would recommend you don't go with the idea of any thing being "Adult Only". Kids are everywhere there, and that is part of it, plain and simple and that will never change. Just don't want you getting upset when your at that romantic dinner and starring into you lovers eyes, and some kid burps out loud behind you, or steps on your toes when your holding each other in front of the Castle watching the fireworks. (Oh and it will happens!).

But I hope we can help you out here with all your questions. I would recommend looking at all of the resorts through the Disney web site & checking out all the Un-Official web sites for each resort. You will get alot better picture of everything then. Google can be you best friend.

I'd recommend CSR in a heartbeat! Besides having a great main pool area, CSR also offers many deluxe amenities at a mod price.

CSR has queen beds and the rooms have been renovated and are gorgeous. The rooms also have a sliding wooden door separating the sink area from the room instead of a privacy curtain like the other mods.

Amenities include a fitness center, spa, free wi-fi, tanning beds, a sauna, salon, full menu room service and a dance club (voted most trendy bar in Orlando). Microwaves are available at check in only upon request.

There is also a terrific bar (Laguna Bar) overlooking the lake that is great for those late night drinks before you stroll over to the beach area in the cabana section to try out some of the hammocks.

The resort offers the same toiletries as the deluxes (except GF). CSR has separate shampoo and conditioner instead of the shampoo/conditioner combo at the other mods and values (a small thing, I know, but it means I don't have to pack shampoo and conditioner).

CSR has the largest hot tub of the mods and one of the longest pool slides on Disney property. There is also a great pool bar with table service.

Bus service is terrific and is not shared with another resort.

You'll definitely want to check out my CSR website below. Have a great trip!
