Disney Resort hotels that need a refurbishing

Have you stayed at a Disney resort hotel that was badly in need of an update? I absolutely LOVE the new rooms at Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter! Just gorgeous! We love the Wilderness Lodge but the rooms could use a make-over. Some friends of ours just stayed at the Polynesian. They had a great time but said the rooms could use some freshening up. What are your thoughts?

Only place we stay at is AKL... and they are just fine. I have heard WL could use a refurb though

I think Wilderness Lodge is scheduled to be refurbished this year, though I'm not sure if they're refreshing the rooms or just the public areas. I had called down at one point to try and find out and no one was very forthcomig with information

That would be wonderful if they are in the works for refurbing WL!!!! It's an amazing resort but the rooms look a little dated. Still a great place to stay.

We are excited to stay at Port Orleans Riverside this November. I requested a water view room in either Bldg 18 or 27 in the Alligator Bayou section. I have stayed at CBR in Jamaica twice and those rooms seemed nice. I've been hearing that the Polynesian does need room refurbs badly so I am holding off on staying there until there is further information.

Well we have stayed at the Poly several time in the last year and saw no wear or tear at the Poly, but FYI, the Poly already has installed several test room with refurbs and new test carpet in several Longhouses, so new things are already coming.

I was there last week and while we sat outside by the pool, I could hear construction going on in some of the rooms. I looked up and could clearly see that one of the rooms had everything shoved into the middle and wrapped in plastic, so maybe the refurb has begun!

Actually , the Poly has had several major refurbs over the years. Another is in the works now with test rooms being tested now and more put in. Also it has been said that DVC is coming to the Poly in the near future and "Major Changes" to effect half of the resort.

I didn't see any refurb work going on in the public areas of the WL when we were there at the beginning of June. The one bedroom villa we stayed in looked great, although there was ONE cracked tile in the bathroom.
