Disney Rumors

Since I have been following the Disney community over the last couple of years I am amazed at all of the rumors out there. Not here, but I have read posts from people who say things that they heard from a friend who knows somebody who knows someone with insider information. Just last night (on another site) someone posted about Maelstrom closing at the end of the year to go through refurb, opening in 2016 with a Frozen theme. This rumor has been going around but according to this guy he "has a friend who knows someone in the know". Every time I read these, I think of this scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Rumors drive me nuts!

I'm very careful not to post anything that I can't confirm with a reliable journalistic source. There are many Disney blogs out there that do not use news quality sources for their stories and encourage rumor hysteria on their forums! In fact there are only a handful of other Disney fan sites that I will use as a source when creating articles for this site.

I don't mind people discussing rumor and speculation on the forums, as long as it is very clear to anyone reading it that they are talking about unsubstantiated rumors. Somebody who knows somebody who works for Disney is the worst source! And Disney bus drivers as sources - LOL! Don't get me started.

Haha!! On our "first" trip to WDW (the 2010 trip--first one that we planned properly and actually had enough time to enjoy ourselves), our Magical Express bus driver assured us that Disney was buying IOA and converting it to a Marvel superhero coaster park!

Magical Express isn't operated by Disney either.......

Just so you guys know, if I found out something at work that may be coming, I have to hold my tongue until Disney officially announces it. That drives me insane because I love sharing good news with you guys! Take what a cast member says with a grain of salt unless you know they are upper management. We hear the same rumors as everyone else and then we are the ones who are trying to control the rumors.
