I definitely have a bit of a collection (probably over 100), but I wouldn't say they have any sort of organization!

I really enjoyed looking at your pins, Zapperz! I'll stare for hours at pins at the parks, but the $6-$12 price tags always scare me away.

The Orlando Sentinel just posted a funny story about pins being a "slippery slope!" I definitely concur!

I've been known to become addictive about things like that so I feel it's best I stay away.

rolling We always like the cult movie references around here.

I voted that it's half the reason I go. I'm not a very avid collector, but I do LOVE to look at and buy pins. mickey

I must say that I have a few, approx. 100, but I only get the ones that have a personal meaning to either my wife or I or both together, such as the resort we stay in or the MVMCP or something like that. We usually go with each an empty lanyard and and bring them back with 7 or 8 on each but we never trade them and respectfully decline when asked if we want to. I should also say the we both have the white "Expedition Everest Sneak Peek" lanyards given out at the grand opening of EE and those ALWAYS attract more comments than any of the pins from both castmembers and guests. In fact we were even asked by some guests if we would like to sell them. The answer was NO!

I'll sell 'em. I have 6 of those! Smile

I wore one during my "Mini Grand Tour", and the cast members at DL actually asked me about EE. This may not mean much, but I've heard many stories of DL cast members looking down upon WDW and its attractions. So for them to actually inquire about EE should mean something.

How'd you wind up with 6?

VetteLover seems to have become a "collector" without becoming obsessive. I wonder how that's done? silly

I still have mine in its original packaging. Does the plastic mean it'll cost extra?!? laugh

That's a good point. I do have a few resort pins from the resorts we've stayed in, and some restaurant pins from restaurants we love (like 'Ohana).

That actually kind of sounds fun. I haven't been a big pin fan, but a kind of "pin journal" seems interesting. Good thinking Vettelover! silly

Wow, Z your collection is amazing. How does that compare to other large collections when you go to pin events?

I'm going to start a collection this trip. If for nothing else than memories of where we've been and what we've done.

I must have missed this thread! Anyway, like I said before, I've got the "pin scrapbook" approach, where I collect stuff to remember the trip by. I wonder if I should get some sort of classy shadow box to put them in...

I think that's a great idea, Annie! You can rotate your favorites like Zapperz.

I have never gotten into collecting the pins. I think it is because I do not have much money, so I spend my souvenir dollars on other things.

I like the idea of getting them from resorts you stay at and restaurants!

The idea of using them as a distinctive memento is clearly the driving force behind all the serious pin people. Except of course for ZapperZ's Dole Whip vest.

Yeah... My Dole Whip Vest is more of a "religious devotion".

I'm somewhere between "It's half the reason I go" and ZapperZ!!

DH and I have about 475 combined...at last count. Of course there are about another 300 on our "wanted" lists!!

We started out collecting what we "liked" but soon realized we needed to have more "rhyme and reason" to our collecting. So now we both have "characters, events, themes" to our collections.

I don't really collect anything else...no figurines, no jewelry, no stamps, no coins etc. so I don't feel terribly guilty. I do have to say that my collecting "ramps up" just before a trip and then eases off when we get home.
