Disney Website

If the Disney's website says that you can use your Disney dining plan, does that mean that if you have a table-service meal, the meal comes free (with the plan, obviously). There is no extra charge for any of those advanced dining spots? Just want to make sure! Thanks!

Hardy I'm not sure what you mean by advanced dining spots. ADR's are Advanced Dining Reservations and you can make them for any table service mean (they are recommended). With the dining plan, meals are not free, you are just paying for them in advance, and what you get depends on what meal plan you purchase, be it the Quick Service Dining Plan, Disney Dining Plan, Deluxe Dining Plan or the Premium or Platinum Dining Plans. You are paying for what you get.

Go to this web site, Disney Dining Plan, and check out each individual plan and they explain exactly what you get and how it works!

What do you mean by Advanced Dining spots?

Adding to what mrhub said, you also don't need to get a dining plan to make an ADR, just a trip reservation number to prove you're going. We're paying as we go with a daily food budget, and we're thinking of making ADRs for maybe two or three table service locations. The rest we're playing by ear with counter service options wherever we happen to be.

Afterthought: Actually, is this even the case? When I looked into one ADR it prompted me for a reservation number but for another it didn't. Does the policy apply to only certain restaurants?

You do not even need a reservation number. However if you are calling at the 180 day mark and not staying onsite you would have to call back every day. When staying onsite you can call at the 180 day mark and book for 10 days at that time.

Mrhub - I would tell you if the website would work. Looks like the WDW website is down, or my computer isn't loading the site. I believe they have their restauraunts categorized, and advanced (or something along those lines) dining is one for them.

And yes, I understand you're paying in advance. I should have re-worded my question. But, if you eat three $40 meals a day on the Deluxe plan then you definitely are getting a discount, no?

Gah, I must have gotten confused then, I have so many confirmation numbers floating around on my computer desktop for different things...

Thank you for clearing that up, scrappy!

Another question I have: What restaurants take two table-service credits for dinner? Le Cellier is, but that's all I know of. Anyone got a list for me?

Some of those I didn't know were two credits. I assumed that Cinderella was. I'll probably do Deluxe when I go there and go to California and Cinderella. Are these the places that are 2 credits for dinner?

Sorry Hardy I've never seen the restaurant listed with a category of Advance Dinning, you may just be mis-reading it.

And to answer your other question, yes, if you are spending approx 85 dollars per day for the Dining Plan and you eat 3 - $40.00 dollar meals (= $120.00), you are saving money.

Here are the listed categories right off the web site.

Yes...those are the Signature (2 credits) restaurants that were listed on that site. There could be more that some of our other forum friends know of.

So California Grill is a must. Seems like everyone is pretty much set on that. I think I'll pass on the castle..I've done it before..and there won't be any kids, so I'll probably just eat at either Flying Fish or Brown Derby for another 2 credit meal.

The Signature Spots that I've eaten below, in order of my favorite at #1. I find that having the Deluxe Dining Plan makes doing signature restaurants a piece of cake. I also think that it pays off more monetarily than the regular plan does.

1) California Grill
2) Yachtmans Steakhouse
3) Jiko
4) Citricos
5) Cinderella's Royal Table
