Disney World tests new ticket-scanning system at Epcot entrance

Came across this today:

Walt Disney World is testing a new ticket-scanning system for park entry, the Disney Parks Blog reported Wednesday.

Some guests have been invited to try the new system at Epcot's main gate. Disney hopes the configuration " which does not require tickets to be inserted into a machine and eliminates turnstiles " will "ease entry, especially for families with strollers or wheelchairs," Social Media Director Thomas Smith wrote.

If they are still doing it in November we can let you know how it goes cause I think we are one of the few people around here or actually use a baby stroller...LOL....

We almost always go in the International Gateway so we'll probably not see this.

Will be interesting, although frankly, I've never felt that it was difficult to get through with a stroller, although I see how a person with an ECV or wheelchair would be inconvenienced by the ticket/gate situation.

I know for us with the Stroller.... probably 75% of the time its not an issue. Its when the crowd is big, and people are being rude and pushing to get into line before other people. One 2 occasions last year I about how someone either back up into the stroller or fall over my daughter because they were in such a rush. Thats my biggest issue with it. I would almost prefer a dedicated line just for Strollers, Wheelchairs and the such.
