Disney World Trivia

So, this may be lazy as I'm not inventing a game to go along with this, but as we prep for the trip we're trying to learn all of the rumors, trivia, little-known info there is about Disney World. We love checking out those little theme adds in the parks that nobody knows about, the hidden mickeys, the photographs, etc.

A few that I know about are:

[UL]
[LI]That there's a picture of Mr. Toad handing the "ride deed" to Rabbit in the Winnie the Pooh ride, because Mr. Toad's Wild Ride used to occupy that space and this is a bit of a tribute to that ride.[/LI][/UL] [UL]
[LI]That there's a well with a rope hanging down into it over by the Indiana Jones amphitheater. There's a sign next to the well reading DO NOT PULL, with the "not" crossed out! If you pull the rope, someone speaks to you from down in the well![/LI][/UL]
Anyone else have any fun rumors, like the matterhorn basketball court, etc.? That's just great stuff, and fun to check out when you're in the parks.

Here's one:

The key under the mat at the Muppets Show! You walk into the queue area, and there's a sign in the "ticket" window that says something like "out for lunch, key under mat!" You look under the mat in front of you, and there's a key!

Great one! There's another cool thing about DHS (I think it's still there..): there's an umbrella down near the streets of america; if you stand under it and pull a chain, it rains all around the umbrella!

My favorite little piece of trivia is that the reason why Walt wanted to build the utilidors under the Magic Kingdom was so that no guest experience would be interrupted by an out-of-character cast member crossing their path (e.g. a Tomorrowland cast member costume in Frontierland!).

-In the queue area (lobby) of Tower of Terror, there is one of those boards where you can stick the letters on to spell out a message. Well some of the letters have fallen, and if you step out of line to look at where they've fallen, you'll see they spell out "eveil tower U R doomed"

-The graffiti that you see in the burning of Rome scene on Spaceship Earth is a reproduction of actual graffiti found when the ancient city of Pompei was uncovered

-Also in Future World, the pre-flight video that's shown in the preshow of Soarin' (starring Patrick Warburton) shows a flight number. That flight number is 5505. It is the date of Soarin's official opening at Epcot - May 5, 2005. (It had opened four years earlier at Disney's California Adventure)

-Why are the sidewalks on Main St. USA at MK painted red? To make the grass look greener, to both the naked eye and in photographs.

-At The Boneyard at Dinoland USA at DAK, if you step on certain footprints in the ground, it'll result in different sounds.

I had no idea about these two! I can't wait to be "smart" next time we go. clapping
