A Disney Xmas At Home...

Good Morning Everyone ..Welcome to the weekend...With reading all these reports from people who are enjoying the xmas spirit at WDW..It has inspired me to come up with this idea of having my xmas dinner this year with a Disney food theme experience ...Now first let me introduce you to my guests..Theres Carl and Samuel ( in laws ) Clint and Kay ( my wife's younger brother and his wife ) with their children Logan and Lauren..( all the way from Abu Dhabi ) And of course my wife Donna and my son Brandon..My table seats 8 but with a squeeze I'll get 9 seated..Now to my menu..For starters I'am doing a Lobster Bisque with garlic croutons ( recipe from YS ) or a Sushi cocktail ( idea from CG ) and for the children a selection of Indian breads with various dips & chutneys.( Sanaa )... My main entre is a crown of Turkey and a Fillet of Beef..The Turkey crown will have strips of honey cured bacon covering it, and the beef will be done as medallions with a red wine jus..( inspiration from Jiko ) The desserts are Florida Key Lime Pie ( my own recipe ) a strawberry and chocolate log with icing sugar.( again my own recipe ) ..I've managed to get Disney themed xmas crackers and hope to have a Disney themed center table attraction..( still thinking on that one ) ...Iam using my past Disney refillables for the children's drinks, and I'am hoping to come up with some cocktails and margaritas ( will check out disney site for these ) I still have six glow cubes that are still working...So there you go...Thats my crazy Disney themed Christmas dinner idea...Do any of you do anything similar at home to keep away those Disney blues, or have I lost the plot ?. confused

OMG this is so awesome! If someone is crafty you could make some Disney Themed name place cards. Oh...so many good ideas.

Can you squeeze in 11 at the table? And what time should we arrive?

Sounds awesome! What a great idea. I shall advise Joe of this idea and see what he says. I say it's not enough that every meal is on a Disney plate with a Disney glass and Disney silverware. There's no such thing as too much!!!

I hope you share some pics when the big day arrives, especially that strawberry and chocolate log!! That sounds soooo good awesome

Every meal I eat and every cup of coffee or tea is of course enjoyed on or in Disney tableware! Then there are the dish towels, measuring cups......yeah.

Let's hope I can pull it off..Especially for the kids...The little Disney extras like my napkins, swizzle sticks, glow cubes, etc will be essential as I know the parents will love the look on their children's faces..

How about a couple of hidden mickeys in the decorations? And possibly mickey crispie treats for a take home snack (they are fairly easy to make). A post lunch game of Disney charades?
