Disney's Golden Oak Community - Who Knew?!

Just received an e-mail from TIW about an upcoming dinner opportunity at Disney's Golden Oak. Since I had never heard of Golden Oak, I had to do some quick research. I did not know that there was a luxury community just a stone's throw from the parks!

For only $1.7 million, you too can own your permanent home next door to The Mouse. (Looks like it's tucked behind Fort Wilderness.) Comes complete with resort amenities too - I mean, if you're going to live in the same neighborhood as Donald and Goofy, you really can't be expected to pick up your own pool towels, now can you?

Of course, I couldn't even afford an outhouse in this place, but I'd love to attend the TIW dinner at the clubhouse: 8 courses, each by a different chef from a variety of Signature Dining restaurants around the resort. Gotta talk about that one when I get home tonight.

The dinner sounds cool, Scott. I have TiW, but I didn't get an email. What are the details?

Yeah. Gotta win the Power Ball or Mega Millions first. But if I ever do win, buying a property there is right near the top of my to-do list.

ouch. sounds cool, but too steep for me. especially because it would require airfare since I won't be in WDW on May 1. laugh

I think Spook and crazycatperson have the right idea! If I win the lottery (or come into $$ some other way!), I'm definitely looking into some property here mickey

Dang it - Just checked my wallet - A couple of bucks short - I'll just have to stay where I am for now!

Yeh, I've been on the Golden Oaks website quite a few times, drooling over my keyboard.
Maybe one day - Aw heck let's face it - It's never gonna happen! - I'll be lucky if I even get to move to the States!

Just wanted to add that when I win the lotto, I also will be buying
in Golden Oaks....however Amy said we can't live in Florida year around...
so when we are elsewhere- I will be expecting all my WDW friends to
be staying at the house and stirring the water in the pool ! muchlove

I agree with Amy. If I win the lotto and buy down there, I will only be in residence from November through March. During the hot months my friends and family can stay there free of charge. (I'll let y'all know if I ever win that lotto so you can get your requests in.)
