My daughter Tori and I are really excited about this. I love that they have made the story more complex than just the ballet too. The costuming looks amazing as well, I predict an Oscar nomination for it.

That does look very interesting. This is the first I'm seeing about this movie, I have to get better at keeping up.

I'll definitely see this movie, but I'm pretty attached to the classic story, so I'll have to make an effort to be openminded about the new film. It looks like Clara will be transported to new realms by following a string maze instead of being swept away by the nutcracker. I hope that's not an indication that we'll lose the scene where the tree grows and the mouse king comes to life and Clara helps the Nutcracker defeat him. That's my favorite scene in the ballet.

Well, after following the string, it looks like she emerges from a giant tree trunk of a tree that has been knocked over, and we do see her in a military uniform, so I'm assuming she will battle as or with the nutcracker in some form.
