We got our Mickey Mail and luggage tags late last week for our upcoming trip to DisneyLand. Yay!
I do like the DL luggage tags. For comparison, here's what we got for our WDW trip in April 2012:

It is almost time! You must be SO excited. I will stuck like glue on here watching for any reports you give us.
I am sure you will have just as much fun as we did.
Those luggage tags are great! I can't wait to read your trip report.

Do you have a "plan'? Where are you eating, what all are you planning on seeing?
Whoo Hoo!!! Thrilled for you! Have a blast!
Sweet!

Would you be surprised to hear that OCD Spreadsheet JeffC does not have a spreadsheet for this trip? Well, ok I do, but it's really not much more than exploring the lay of both parks on Monday, then focus on DL Tuesday and DCA Wednesday.
I've got a rough idea of the order of rides and lands - it will depend a bit on the weather. No coasters if it's below 60! Ha.
No food reservations, just a list of a few places that have intrigued us. Joe saw a tweet from TouringPlans that Earl of Sandwich just made the Holiday Sandwich a permanent fixture on their menu!
World of Color is on the list. We looked at the picnic lunch to get the automatic FastPass, but decided it really wasn't worth it for us. If we find we can't get a FP on the first or second day, we can always order the picnic thing for the last day. But I'm not convinced we will won't be able to get a FP the regular way.
Let me know if you have any particular tips, tricks, must-tries, etc. I'm excited about trying all the new and different rides and variations of WDW rides there.
So, in short, I kinda have a plan, but not really. But ask me again in 11 days as I obsess about it...
Oh Jeff, you have to try Trader Sam's for me if you get a chance. I so want to go there some day.
Two more places which were suggested to me by Brad, and was he correct. are the Blue Bayou,in DL and the Steakhouse 55 in the DisneyLand Hotel, both great places to dine. Have fun!!!
::gasp!:: No Plan! How can you stand it?
After going last May the kids and I decided that if we ever did World of Color again that we would absolutely get reserved viewing for the show. Getting a good spot is really kind of crazy, even when you have a fast pass you have to get there plenty early.
New Orleans Square & Frontierland get VERY crowded in the late evening before Fantasmic! so if I'm not just finding a spot for the show I tend to avoid that area at night.
Indiana Jones Temple of the Forbidden Eye is my very favorite ride at any Disney Park that I've ever been to.
Steakhouse 55 and Blue Bayou are great "nice" restaurants with great food. Inside Disneyland I love Rancho de Zocalo and the Plaza Inn for fast casual dining. Storytellers Cafe at the Grand Californian is my favorite Character Breakfast. Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen has some of the best beignets I have ever tasted, and the dueling pianos in the bar at night are fantastic. Trader Sam's Tiki Bar is a LOT of fun and the food is pretty dern good too.
Just have fun! Don't try and make to many comparisons, it's a completely different place that's beautiful and unique. I'm so excited for you!
:clapping:
Have a fantastic trip! Can't wait to hear the reports!
Would love to know how you feel about Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion there compared to at WDW.
Those luggage tags are awesome...way cooler than the WDW ones, in my opinion! Have an amazing time! v
Fall 2015: Master's Degree Graduation Trip, Details TBD! Can't wait to be back in the World!
Nov. 2014: Baby's First 1/2 Day at the Magic Kingdom; our date day at Hollywood studios
Jan. 2014: Our princess was born!
May 2013: Our POR & DCL honeymoon (& my husband's first Disney trip of hopefully many!)
May 2013: Our Disney-themed wedding
The Monte Cristo in the blue bayou restaurant(DL) is awesome! We also enjoyed the corn dog castle (DCA)
Since this is your first trip to DLand don't forget to enjoy the rides we don't have at WDW including Mr. Toad's, Roger Rabbit's ride in toontown and the Alice in wonderland dark ride...
I'm so excited for you both...and a little jealous.
