My husband and I can't imagine not park hopping but the friends we are going with think it will be too much of a hassle.
What do you do?

We have never stayed at one park all day. Never...
Don't get me wrong. I know you can do a park in one day... spend the whole time there. But we just never have. We usually end up at Epcot 9 times out of 10 at night.

I much prefer the change of pace that 2 parks can give you in a day.

We almost always park hop. Like Vettelover said, it gives you a change of pace.

We are the same way Mase, we always end up at Epcot for the evening. Just something about walking around World Showcase at night, with a drink in hand!

Yes. We always park hop. And like Mase said, we almost always end up in EPCOT for something. Of course there is the change of pace too... If I don't park hop I end up like This ----> the next day.

We don't usually park hop. Not because I think it's a hassle, or dislike it, but that's the spot that I usually figure I can save a little money. Since I made that "cut" starting around 2008, there has been a total of once that I wished I had had it because I miss a great fan meet at Epcot. Come to find out we could have park hopped that day because we has MNSSHP tickets for that night!
One of the reasons that we don't miss park hopping is because we generally sleep in and take the mornings easy. When the kids and I went last October we didn't get out of the hotel room before 10AM once. Well except for the day we did the 5K. I think that park hopping is fantastic especially if you're out for rope drop and then go back to the hotel in the afternoon. It's just not generally how my family tours.
We're evenly split. Sometimes we hop, sometimes we don't. But if I were staying for a few days, I totally would. Not a hassle at all imo, esp between MK and Epcot.

There is just something about epcot at night. And its funny... So far three of us go there at night, and its usually never busy... Lol

Ditto. We usually hit the first park for rope drop, stay until lunch, then go back to the hotel for a swim or a nap, then hit another park in the evening. Though sometimes we go back to teh same park in the evening. But we always get the park hopper option. I cant't stand not having options.
We've hopped loads of times, usually for special events or shows or to make the best use of EMH. Nipping back to the hotel gives us a chance to freshen up before continuing the commando assault at the next park.
I can only please one person per day. Today isn't your day... tomorrow doesn't look good either.
Tony! How was Greece? Or are you telling us that somewhere else and I'm not paying attention?
Hi,
I always park-hop, occasionally doing all four parks in one day and hitting all my favorite attractions. I like choice.

Tony! How was Greece? Or are you telling us that somewhere else and I'm not paying attention?
Greece was hot, average daily temps of 30C with low humidity We had relatives with us who had never been to the island of Zakynthos before and we tried to show them as much of the island as possible in a week, so there was much less time spent lazing by the pool than usual. We hired a Suzuki Jimny (small 4WD Jeep type car) for a day and spent a good 10 hours driving all over the place taking in all of the main sights, spent a day shopping in the main town with it's maze of small streets and boutique type shops, then in complete contrast went up into the hills to a place called Volimes where almost every house has a market stall on the front selling locally made textiles and produce.
The only signs of the financial troubles the country is facing were a few less traders in Volimes (and they were willing to negotiate lower than usual when haggling prices) and a 2 day taxi drivers strike when we first arrived. Fortunately we'd booked coach transfers to our hotel with the travel company so didn't need the taxi's.
I'll have a look through my photo's over the weekend and see if there are any worth adding to the artistic photo's thread.
Sorry, about as far off topic as it's possible to get, but it's Lizzy's fault

I think any new person should have the option too. AK, HS, and Epcot are not for everyone. I'd always been old that AK sucked and it ended up being one of our favorite places. But when I said that to a visiting friend, they ended up hating it. Don ask me why. bit at least they had the park hopper option to move.
We always have the hoppers, but don't hop everyday. Sometimes a hop is planned, sometimes its because crowds are bothering us, sometimes it's weather, and sometimes it's just a random thought. I can't imagine not having the hopping option though, even if it's just for a meal at epcot and back to the Mk again.
Wishin' I was at WDW!

Tony - we'll all forgive you for straying off topic - because it just sounds cooler than cool! I hope you do post a pic or two. I know it's not Disney, but I for one would LOVE to hear about the deets of a Greek Isle trip (and see food pics too, haha.)
Thanks for humoring me.
We usually park hop unless we are there longer than 7 days. Then we just do one park a day.....lol.
Though sometimes we go back to the same park in the evening. But we always get the park hopper option. I cant't stand not having options.

I'm with these two!! I like the flexibility. I don't schedule my trips, aside from a couple ADRs, so I like being able to spontaneously change parks when the mood strikes. Last year I actually ended up leaving Magic Kingdom after 45 mins there because the lines and crowds were ridiculous. We went to Epcot, it was empty. Must have just been a Magic Kingdom kind of day for everyone!
We always park hop. We generally do one park in the morning, then head back to our resort after lunch to rest for a little bit to rest/relax, then head to a different park in the evening. I love the freedom it gives us for meal planning also, since if we have a dining reservation in/near a specific park, we don't have to stay there all day and worry about getting restless with the park prior to our reservation.
Last year was my first experience with park hopping. I had been to Walt Disney World prior to this trip but Magic Kingdom was the only park at the time so there were no other parks to hop to. Now that I've experienced it, I wouldn't go on a trip without it.
Never have hopped yet. Can't imagine doing that in MK. I could spend the whole vacation in just that park.....LOL!
Could definately see hopping in AK, HS, or Epcot but not MK. That's an all dayer for sure!
We don't hop every day, but we always get the park hopper option. We travel in the off-season when some of the parks close early, and I would hate having to leave Animal Kingdom at 5 p.m. without being able to hop someplace else. Also, hopping to Epcot for a nice World Showcase dinner after a day in another park is always fun.
I've never NOT park hopped. I just think it's more fun to go from one place to another. I like to mix it up.
okay. i'm the newbie so bear with me....our tickets are park hopper tickets, but I haven't really thought about using it until I read this post. How do you guys normally park hop? I guess I am not used to having 4 parks to choose from when we go somewhere like Six Flags and it takes us most of the day to make it around the park. Do you leave off somewhere and then make your way back to that spot the next time you are at the park or what do most of you do??

When I do park hop, I generally have an idea of what I want to see before I leave.
I like doing Adventureland/Frontierland/Liberty Square in the same day at the Magic Kingdom, and then I might head over to Epcot in the evening because the dining options are greater. When at Epcot, we would hit the attractions that are near the country we're eating in before watching Illuminations.
My mother always did the morning at Animal Kingdom where she would hit her favorite rides, and then take the afternoon at Hollywood Studios. Many people find it easy to get through those parks in a half a day if they know what attractions they want to hit ahead of time.
I think it's nice to park hop from Hollywood Studios to Epcot because of the nice boat ride between the two. We often will stop off at the Yacht Club for dinner in between.

The boat goes from the front entrance of Hollywood Studios to the back entrance (International Gateway directly into World Showcase) of Epcot. It takes about 25 minutes from one end to the other and makes stops at several nice resorts along the route. I especially like this ride on summery nights, it's beautiful with all the lights reflecting on the water.
Call me the WDW bunny, I love the hop, make your ressies anywher eyou want and if the mood trikes you head to any park you like, Especially nice when a park closes early, you and hit up another one
