Do you avoid hurricane season?

Hurricane Season is probably our favorite time of year to go, but I know a lot of people avoid it because they don't want to have to change their plans. We're pretty flexible, so we roll with it. Plus we don't mind some rain in the parks. What's your philosophy?

It wouldn't stop me one bit. Disney is too far inland to get any serious, serious damage..plus I remember when all those storms hit about 5 years ago Disney really took care of everyone. It's like my dad use to tell me when we were in the car in the middle of a thunder storm "there is no safer place to be"..it seems like Disney would be the safest place to be if you had to be in Florida during hurricane season.

As Brad said, the only real risk is that your flights get messed up because of weather.

We don't avoid hurricane season. We actually go during the height of hurricane season every year (August-November). We go at the end of August typically because living in New York, school has not started yet so we don't have to pull our child out of school, but also because most everyone else is in school it is not nearly as busy as other times. This is also considered "value season" in WDW, so we save a little bit of money as well. mickey

I do avoid hurricane season, but the secondary reason for me is that the temperatures in FL are just too hot and humid at that time of the year for me to enjoy myself.

No, we don't avoid it. There were a few years there when I was worried about the storms, but Orlando is so far inland that usually it's just a lot of rain.

However, after the big storm a few years ago that left so many Orlando folks homeless, it was really sad to fly into MCO and see all the blue tarps on the roofs.

We've tweaked our trip a bit when there were actual hurricanes, but we have no problem making a reservation for hurricane season.

I just avoid June thru September when it is just too hot unless I'm just going to relax by the pools and enjoy the resort but no way do I do park time anymore in the summers.
