We're staying at the Grand Floridian which is a first for me and it was really convenient to take the boat back from the MK (since it's the first stop). Most of the time that we take the boat though, it's just for fun. Do you guys ever just take a boat ride for the heck of it?

Every now and then, we do. If we see a boat, a small crowd and have nowhere in particular to be, we love the boat rides.

I've though about trying to do that just cause I want to experience as much as I can and I love nice boat rides, haha.

Yep! I love riding the boats every so often just to ride them. I think it is fun!

Hi,

I guess it depends on where I'm staying or going. Resort to resort trips often require a transfer. so if I'm staying at, say, AKL and have an ADR at WCC in WL, I'll take the bus to MK and then the launch to WL. When I stayed at POFQ in 2004, I took the boat to Downtown Disney Marketplace. I knew I was in trouble when it dropped off in front of Ghirardelli's Chocolate Shoppe. Other times, I'll take the boat or monorail to my destination instead of the bus. It's just so much cooler.

At least 2or 3 in every one of the 57 trips I have done to Disney. But then Jan and I did not do Disney like anyone else anyway.

Yes! We love the boats..we usually take them if we have the option unless we are in a hurry. Of course this was before traveling with a baby!

I would love to, but the lines have always been so long every time we have been there.

I really like the boats from Epcot/HS and PO resorts/DTD. Nice and relaxing.

The "Friendships" between Epcot & HS can get a bit hot inside, but sitting out on the back is the best!

Yes! I really love the transportation by boat. My favorite "just for the heck of it" loop is the Epcot hotel loop at night time. The lights shining on the water from the boardwalk are so magical to me. I like to sit on the outside deck in the back of the boat on this trip. It's very romantic.

I don't take boats for fun, just for transportation.

Trains, on the other hand...I will take trains just for fun.

I'd love to, but there's never time. Always somewhere to be! I have though, on many occasions recently, opted for the ferry over the monorail It's a nice change of pace.

Taking the boat for something to do was the way we discovered the boat that goes from the back of epcot to hollywood studios. I just wanted to see where it went. So now we have a back way in to epcot and don't have to walk all the way around to get to dinner reservations or to catch a bus. We also love the boat from fort wilderness to the lodge or contemporary. The one to magic kingdom is always packed so we ride to contemporary and walk the rest of the way.
