Becca we are lucky enough to be able to tip generously also. We leave at least 5 bucks a day and a good extra tip at the end of our trip. They usually take really good care of us. We've always been anxious to see what is in store for us at the end of each day in our room. biggrin and mousekeeping has never let us down.

muchlove they really are awesome! I love talking to the cast members who don't have the "glamour" jobs. They seem to have the best stories and really do take so much pride in their work!

The urgent care we took my son to that one year there was a mousekeeper there also. The had slipped on the steps and hurt her back. We were talking about towel animals. She said she spent time at home making them for guests. She was telling me that she worked her way up the ladder per say she started at value, went to POFQ and then AKL.

When we were at POFQ..the CM who helped us at the front desk said she had worked her way up
from housekeeping and was now learning the ropes at the front desk...she was super sweet and
You could tell how much pride she had in her job. She said she had been with Disney over 10 yrs.

I tip daily and I write my thank you notes in English and Spanish just in case awesome
If I'm solo I tip $2 a day. If DW is with me I tip $3 per day. We also leave candy along with our notes. We don't usually make a large mess. I tip no matter what...I love towel animals but don't necessarily need them.

We had great mousekeeping service at Art of Animation. She even realized on the very first day that I hated the bedspread and left it folded in the corner for me instead of putting it back on the bed. However she realized that my traveling companion was using the one on his bed and so she made his bed the whole way. I was pretty impressed with that. We had towel animals every day, and one day she even made a little minnie mouse bow with the end of the toilet paper roll that was super cute!

I think I left about $4 a day because the room was cramped and we had a lot of stuff.

Candy! What a good idea. Kisses or something simple, I like that idea. What was your message in Spanish? Thank you or was it more then just a simple thank you?

I like it! Maybe mini candy canes since it'll be Dec? I've thought about the English and Spanish thank you, but I'm worried about the translation! I don't want to say anything bad or cuss at them! laugh

I have the same fear. Though last year when I tried to tell them I didn't need service just a couple of towels (she was on our floor a few rooms down) she didn't speak english very well. It sounded European or Russian maybe. Hard to say I don't have an ear for languages and Disney brings students in from all over the world. I just know it was Spanish or English.

Muchas Gracias para tu trabajo = thank you for your work. Because it was Halloween we left snack size candy bars. For Xmas I will bring Hershey's kisses or Ghiradelli squares and flavored candy canes.

OK, I have my envelopes made (maid!) and filled with $$ (thank you scrappy), and now I am going to get some candy to go with it (thank you Dee). I will let you know if Courtyard folks do towel animals. mickey

Dee, I too am stealing your Kiss and candy cane idea. I have been trying to come up with something for putting our meal tips in but have not had any success. I can not put the tip in ahead of our meal because we honestly have no idea what we will eat until we get there. Your candy cane idea gave me an idea for our meals though. I may just get some candy canes and tie ribbons around them. I could then just fold up the tip accordion style and tie it to the candy cane with the ribbon. This would work too with a little bag of Kisses tied with a ribbon. Thanks Dee!

I tipped $2.00 per day. I didn't leave it in an envelope but I did write a thank you note with it. I'll have to remember to get candy for next year.

We don't tip the housekeepers. I understand that a lot of people do and that's fine. It's just not something I've ever done.
