Do you visit the closest park more?

So each of the resorts is grouped by the resort it is in the area of. Do you guys find that you visit the park which you're closest to more than usual? I think we found the time we stayed in an Epcot resort we went WAY more than we usually would. AKL on the other hand didn't really make us more likely to go to AK I don't think. What's your experience?

I think it depends on why you chose that resort. We tend to base our resort choice on the group that's going and which park we think we'll go to the most. For example, when we go with the kids, we choose a MK resort. Adults only, Epcot area. I think it's a "chicken and egg" kind of question! Do we go to that park because the resort is nearby, or did we choose the resort because it's near that park?

That's a really good point. Beacch Club would be great at Food & Wine for example. How often do you take the kids along?

We usually take them. Hubby took me for my 40th birthday, just the 2 of us, and we're looking at maybe doing that again next year. Otherwise, we know we're going to spend a lot of time at MK (although we go to all the parks and DTD), so we plan our resort accordingly to reduce travel time as much as possible. Hoping to stay kidless at Beach/Yacht Club or Boardwalk next year for F&W (and my birthday)!

Which MK resort is your pick? We love Contemp (when we decide we can afford it), but the Poly always looks so fun.

That's what we're doing this year. Very excited. It's been a long time coming.

The main point is why you choose a resort?

I think everyone chose a resort cause to good location therefore, that all attractive sites accessible. It is one of the major points that we consider during selection of a resort or a hotel. So, we must visit to all closest attractive sites.

We do not visit the closest park more. Magic Kingdom is always number one with us with or without kids. As far as where we stay, that just depends. When we use our DVC points we have been starting to try different resorts. When we are paying for the trip we usually stay at the Poly.

Brad,
We've stayed at the Contemporary (my parents were paying awesome ) and Wilderness Lodge. Staying at the Poly this Dec. Not MK area, but I've also stayed at CBR (with the kids), and AKL and POFQ (without them). The kids stayed at Shades of Green with their grandparents and cousins.

I've always wondered what it was like at Shades of Green. Did they enjoy it?

Scrappy -- We love the MK, too! It's always our first park!

We don't..and to be honest I've never really thought of it that way!
We are weird though..people watching on the bus is one of our favorite things to do. I suppose when we do take the boy and we bring everything in our house except the toilet with us to the parks we might think differently. laugh

Yeah when the hassle factor goes up you might like the closer parks better, especially if someone gets tired/fussy and needs to come home.

We rarely ever think about it either, unless we're staying at Beach Club or a Monorail resort. Then we probably go a few extra times to the easiest park.

Sometimes we change resorts mid trip and when we do that we definitely favor the close ones for each place. So if we're doing Contemporary then Pop Century we definitely go to the MK more while we're in the CR so that we can make the most use of our easy access.
