I've been thinking of buying a Gorillapod Flexible Tripod. It's my hope that this is something I could securely wrap around a balcony railing with my camera on it and it would be secure. However I've never used one I'm I'm not that trusting of what I rest my camera on. Do you have a Gorillapod? Do you use it often? Would you buy it again? Have you used it for this reason?
Oh! or what about the Miggo Splat? Does anyone have one of those?

I have the small gorilla pod and the large one. I use the large one occasionally. Never the small one
