The Dread Factor...

Oh No...Surely this ain't going to happen...Please no...... gaah ...Last night my DW and I watched our 2012 DVD of our magical vacation, then on my trusty I - Pad ( best thing invented since shortbread ) We watched a tour of the WL on the unofficial site...After it finished we kinda looked at each other and said Wow...This is gonna be our best Disney vacation yet..12 nights at a deluxe resort ( something I've always dreamed about, but could never afford ) This resort looks awesome..Jaw dropping entrance..Rooms with a balcony and woodland view..White sandy beach..Boats that sail you to Never Never land (MK)..All going well, three signature dinning experiences...F&W at Epcot..MNSSHP at MK..Meeting our American cousins ( so to speak ) at The Poly for a Lapu Lapu...That's when it struck... eek ..We are going to love it so much that we wont want this to be our final farewell...Yep..The fear factor had kicked in...Has anyone out there planned a final trip, then decided it won't be.?

yep every year! each year we have the discussion "right this year has wiped us we may have to wait a few years or possibly if I find a man willing to have me we may never have an adult trip again!" but some how each year whilst sitting for the ME we start planning the trip for next year!!!!

I honestly don't think I could leave thinking "I won't ever be back" I think I would always need the hope that someday I would return

I am quite sure that I will die still planning my next trip to Disney. I just can't imagining planning on not returning someplace that makes me so happy. However, I do change my plans and what I think "the best trip" would be all the time. I have this weird thing where I kind of theme my vacations - they all revolve around a specific place or event that colors the whole trip. It helps keep all of the trips fresh and new and there is always something more to look forward to.

I've tried telling myself we need to go do something different..
The truth is - I don't want to!
I don't do beach holidays, we're terrible at sightseeing and I have the attention span of.....

Anyways -

Why stop doing something you love?
I DO DISNEY! - and I always will

Why not skip a year and save up for a greater resort -
We stayed at the AKL when we got married - I know that will never happen again due to two small people now in our lives but I can dream..

Dream big and dream often.

Nice answers..My reason for saying this trip would be our final farewell was due to several factors..1..My son will be 17 on our October trip then heads off to college ( life in WDW without him wouldn't be the same,he's the only one in line to my throne ) 2..I'am not getting any younger..( won't see 60 again ) 3..It's a kinda expensive vacation and I've got lots of things we need to do around our castle.( you think cleaning out a swimming pool is expensive, get a quote for a moat )...But like Mr Ferret says " Never say Never." crossfingers

You really do have to give going childless a try. I did not think I would care much for it but for me that was when I really began to LOVE going.

Not going to happen in my house. Apologies to my DH but it's just not. Period. In all honesty, I'm having a hard enough time with no Disney until next year. I know, poor me, first world problems, etc. waiting

As of this moment, I've got three future Disney trips in my head: one for February 2015 for the Princess 10K/Dream cruise, one for summer 2016 for DS' high school graduation present (DS requested a Disney cruise. Hard to argue) and one in 2018 for Kristen K's vow renewal. mickey

Planning for Disney trips makes me happy and it's a huge motivating factor for so many things in my life (looking for a better job, getting to the gym on schedule, saving, budgeting, remembering how lucky I really am, etc). I cannot imagine deciding that I would not return.

OMG!!!! YES!!! I thought my husband was crazy when he said we should go it alone for our 25th. Don't get me wrong, I love my sons, but going alone or with another couple in our age group and interests is a BLAST!!!!

And yes, we helped put those boys through college and set up in life and somehow it all came out fine. At this moment I am covered in paint texture as we are fixing up the church parsonage that we are renting. All this work and we won't be here in a year...sigh.

King Fergus I never say never. I plan on going every other year and if that doesn't happen so be it but I will always have a plan. So......Never say Never. My next trip is going to be a solo trip and I am looking forward to it because I can go at my speed.....slow.

We keep thinking this years trip will be it for "awhile" which becomes the very next year. I like the idea of visiting after big changes so I can really appreciate it instead of peaking at the mounds of dirt. But really does a great job of making sun TKE changes all over the place.

Someday I might be so old that traveling anywhere, including WDW, just isn't feasible anymore. My dad is already there, so I know it's a possibility.

But I expect that day is still a long way off. Until then I will always be mulling over the next trip to WDW even if we don't actually have a fixed date for the trip yet.
