I've never started a post before, but I' m so happy, I could bust and had to share! While in the World last month, we finally joined the DVC. Our new home is AKL. We couldn't buy a ton of points, but we bought what we could afford, enough to continue our annual trips. Wish we could've done it a long time ago, but we're so excited and thankful to be part of the club now. Thanks to all of you for the tips and tricks of the trade. We feel like we just won the lottery!!

You mentioned you bought while in The World, does that mean you bought those AKL points direct? We bought at the Poly but I never thought to ask about other resorts. I think they were only selling Poly and Aulani "officially".

Yes, we bought direct. They were selling Copper Creek and the Poly, but I asked about AKL and they came back with available points. We probably could've bargained a bit, but I never thought of it at the time.

We also own at AKL. I REALLY want to buy at Copper Creek. Sadly we have to wait a few years ( hopefully it's still available 
) We plan on checking out the model in November though. Can't wait!
