El Pirata y el Perico

This is one of my "Must-do's" as far as Counter Service is concerned..but it is NOT for lack of trying!
In the six years I have been going regularly this place has been open ONCE. We saw it and I said "I want to eat there..but let's wait and come back for dinner". I went back for dinner..it was CLOSED!

I saw the new review on the Disney Food Blog today and my mouth began to water. I was only slightly dissapointed to see AJ's blurb that El Pirata is going to be closed again and changes are coming. I was hoping that for some reason they would be open in May for my trip.

Oh well..has anyone been there? Pictures to share so I can drool my face off?

Do you know I have NEVER been here either?! I haven't been to the Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe, either (not the noodle stop). I just don't go during busy seasons, so that's the problem.

I've heard that changes are coming, too. I wonder when/what!

We always go as far off-peak as possible, so all the places that are only open when it's really busy are always closed.

I'm jealous of both of y'alls off peakness...I'd kill to go in February or something.
Never gonna happen.

Never say never, Bella! Who knows?

We can't ever find El Pirata open, either. Too bad, as I'd like to compare it to cantina over in Epcot.

I've been really horrified by how hard it seems for most teacher types to get any kind of vacation. That whole summer vacation thing loses it's charm if I don't get any other vacation during the year.

For real. I could go a Spring Break..but that seems like the worst idea ever..oh wait..no worse than the OTHER time we can go..Christmas.

Luckily we get out pretty early in the year so we'll be heading down before Memorial Day. I suppose I could use my personal days and take a vacation in February..but honestly with my job it's better for MY sanity that I am there all the time. I would come back and my room & my kids would be a hot mess after a week or so with a sub. It'd cause me more stress than it would be worth!
