Empty Rides, Eerie experience

Last September I was in Universal Studies with my family and when we went over to the Revenge of the Mummy ride.
We were the only people walking through the whole waiting line and then were alone in the car that carries like 30 people!
It was cool but pretty eerie considering you walk through dark and dust!
Has any one else had similar experiences in Disney with emty rides, restaurants, shows?
I couldn't have imagined before then that you could find a place with no one else in it!

Yes, especially during the MNSSHP, we were the only ones on Pirates, and I mean the only ones! all boats in front and back were empty and no one else in the boat with us. That was a very eerie feeling. Haunted Mansion there were only 2 other couple on the ride behind us. The ride had been closed and we got on before many people realized it had opened again.

I agree about PotC. We rode it once with no one else. After reading the Kingdom Keepers books it made for an eerie ride. Cool but creepy. Smile

Not really "eerie" but scary- It had been dark clouds for a while, and as we we came out the opening doors on Test Trak to go around the big loop, a big bolt of lightning cracked super loud... Sounded like it was right on top of us! The ride closed down after that, because of the lightning. If the restraints weren't in I would have jumped right out of the seat!

My friend and I were the only ones on The Maelstrom. That was eerie!

we have to fly in every single cabin of Star Tours every morning before we can open, so I've rode by myself lots!

We were the only ones at the Haunted Mansion one of our mornings this past April.

We had the entire stretch room to ourselves! Now that was eerie and odd and fun all in one! And then no one anywhere in sight on the doom buggy.

I just read the Kingdom Keepers and I don't think i'll be able to look at the parks and rides the same anymore. I'll be watching my back on small world laugh

We were the only ones on Splash Mountain one time but I think it was because it wasn't the warmest of nights. When we got off a CM said we must be from Canada awesome

That's never happened to me at WDW, but it sounds creepy! It happens all the time when I go to SeaWorld or Busch Gardens on less crowded days. I love getting a whole coaster to yourself and your friends!

Once hubby and I had one of the ships to ourselves at DisneyQuest's Pirates of the Caribbean ride. They set the ship on auto pilot and we ran from side to side shooting stuff. We still got the second-best ranking when it was all done. I actually wouldn't mind having another ship to ourselves next visit.

As for rides in the major parks, I can't recall ever being completely alone. I have experienced lines so short I was literally walking onto rides, but there have always been a few other people around.

Have had this happen on a few occasions and it really is quite creepy...in a good way! Though if I was the only person on It;s a Small World I would have a major freak out, that's one ride I couldn't cope with alone!!

The first time I rode TOT, it was just me, my sister, and dad. The picture is hilarious since my dad knew what to expect and he is looking over at my sis and me; we are pretty much clutching each other in terror, and you can't tell whose arm is whose. I will have to find and scan that pic....

I have also been on the Haunted Mansion with maybe one other couple and POC with just our party in sight. It makes it kind of cooler...

The same happened to us on the rapids ride in DL. You can always tell a Canadian by our love of anything that isn't -20C!

As for Eerie experiences, I always am creeped out by PotC in DLP. I HATE riding it alone.

This past March, DH and I were the only ones on our boat for Splash Mountain. It was fun because we could be as loud and silly as we wanted without annoying other people. haha!

Can't imagene any ride more creepy for doing solo than the Mumy. Not to long I was one of the first ones on Splash Moutain and found myself surrounded by empty logs, including my own. I found the whole experince quite humorous in its own way.

Im a manly man! NOTHING SCARES ME! angelwings

I think the eeriest for me was the first time my son went on HM. We got stuck right when the car turned backwards. Where we were at you couldn't see ANYTHING and it was as dark as dark could be! And having my son there starting to get scared and panicky... that was getting me a bit on the edge, but I'm Super Dad! And we powered through it!

biggrin
