Epcot Reimagining Makes Way For Changes To Future World

http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/07/02/epcots-electric-umbrella-to-close-as-part-of-massive-future-world-transformation/

Several Future World staples will be closing later this year as part of the major overhaul and reimagining of Epcot that is currently in process.

  • Festival Center - closed, becoming Play Pavilion
  • Universe of Energy - closed, becoming Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Epcot's Electric Umbrella - closing this winter
  • Camera Center - closing in late fall
  • Innoventions East, Colortopia and Nanooze Break - closing early fall
  • Fountain of Nations - closing early fall
  • Character Spot - temporary closure this fall
  • Club Cool - closing, but will reopen "in a new capacity at a future merchandise location."
  • Fountain View Starbucks - relocating to temporary location this fall
  • Leave A Legacy - relocating, outside the Epcot Main Gate
  • Pin Central Future World - relocating to temporary location this fall, then taking over the camera center retail space
  • Mouse Gear - relocating to temporary location this winter

That's a lot of construction. Did I miss anything?

It's about 10 years overdue.

I love the fountains they were one of those hidden delights. That area is going to be awful with all the closures, there goes the talking bin Sad and Mousegear was massive so it will be interesting to see how it fits somewhere else.

Surprisingly, I'm really excited to see what these spaces turn in to. Future World has largely become walk through space for my family, and I have hope that the complete reimagining will bring us something wonderful.

We decided on our last visit that EPCOT had become a 1/2 day park & will be skipping it all together on our visit this October. Change is overdue & welcome.

I agree, don't spend much time there at all. I'm excited for the future of all the parks and resorts as a whole!

Everywhere at Disney is great food and beverage. Food & Wine fest still holds a special place in our hearts... but we are building in some margin to explore new offerings in AK & HS on this journey. (1st trip in 3 years)
