On the Eve before the P & L experience begins!

54 DAYS!!!!

We have been planning this trip to Disney basically since we got back from our honeymoon in May 2010. I have been researching and planning ever since. It is hard to believe that the trip is going to be here in less than 2 months.

I have always loved traveling vicariously through others trip reports so I decided to write one of my own. Maybe it will help someone else curb their excitement for thier upcoming trip.

It has been over 12 years since I have been to Disney (and as a high school student my parents planned that trip) and it has been 15 years since my husband has been there (school marching band trip) Needless to say we are so excited to be planning this trip and doing things on our terms! I am positive that so much has changed and as we have been saving for this trip for over a year we will definitely appreciate Disney in a way we never have before.

So this is already long enough without the Details of the plans...so those will come soon Smile

Below is a photo of us this summer battling the heat and crowds at the DMB Caravan in Chicago (I told P it was good practice for Disney...lots of walking, sun, and people) Since you will probably get sick of seeing us by the end of this TR (I take a lot of photos)

K - first of all - you're both adorable! Thanks for the pic! It's awesome to see the personality of those that make up our little community - whether it's a cupcake avatar (like me!) or a real pic.

Second - your excitement is INFECTIOUS! Omigosh - I am so thrilled for you both. What a great time, and how awesome to go for the first time, like you said, on your OWN terms - together.

I cannot WAIT to hear all about it! Will you TR day by day while you're there, or save it all til you're home again? So, September, right?

Congrats again!

All of our plans have been made but I am sure that you all will have suggestions (which are welcomed) Here is the run down...

Sept 15 (Thurs): Fly into Orlando (arrive around 3) - probably spend the evening either lounging by the pool and possibly
exploring DTD and grabbing something to eat.

Sept 16 (Fri): Universal Studios (I know blasphemy)
Dinner: Fulton Crabhouse (suggestion from you all!!!) in DTD and afterwards we are kicking our trip off with
La Nouba.

Sept 17 (Sat): EPCOT - No formal reservations as we didn't want to be tied down to anything and all of the snacks in the
countries look so delicious. I want to try everything and I won't be able to do that on a full stomach.

Sept 18 (Sun): DISNEY HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS -
ADR: Sci-Fi Drive in @4:10 - Now I know the reviews for Sci-Fi are terrible, but the concept seems like so
much fun so we will probably just tuck in and get milkshakes or dessert and just
escape the sun and pass the time.

Sept 19 (Mon): ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE - I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan so the WWOHP is a must do.

Sept 20 (Tues): Free Day (kind of) - We have nothing scheduled but we have an extra Universal Day pass. We may use it
for just a morning if we don't have time to fully see WWoHP and IoA (I am hoping that
we see it all in the one day)
MMNSSHP!!!! - I am really excited about this. We plan on getting to MK at 4 and seeing as much as we can
in the day grabbing dinner and then seeing it again at night.

Sept 21 (Wed): MAGIC KINGDOM - Depending on how much we get to see at the Halloween Party (hopefully lines will be
super short) we may decide to sleep in (may not)

Sept 22 (Thurs): ANIMAL KINGDOM -
ADR: California Grill 9:25 - We are going to go up early so that we can hopefully see Wishes from the
Observation Deck before we eat.

Sept 23 (Fri): Free Day - We will sleep in.
ADR: Kona Cafe 9:55 for breakfast
We have an extra Disney Park Ticket so we may use it to go somewhere we didn't
get enough of (probably Epcot to enjoy the countries more) Lounge by the Pool, shop in DTD,
maybe resort hop

Sept 24 (Sat): Leave the World Sad go through vacation withdrawl, start planning our next trip back.

Sounds like a great plan, when you explore DTD on your first evening you could try Earl of Sandwich for a quick and inexpensive meal.

Sounds great! And Vettelover is SPOT ON with the EoS suggestion - it's a can't miss! Are you planning to dress up for MNSSHP? Lots of grown ups do - even if you don't go full costume, a hat or wig or something is always fun...and face painting is FREE! (at least it was 2 years ago) so you can always do that as well.

You have plenty of support from Potter fans here, so no worries about that.

Earl of Sandwich is AMAZING...yum yum!

You have some great things planned with MNSSHP, Kona Cafe and snacking around the world! You will have a great time!

I am so jealous about La Nouba! I recently saw my first Cirque de Soiel show and it was so cool..now I totally want to see La Nouba.

We saw KA in Las Vegas...and it was AMAZING! La Nouba is one of the things that I had to do when we went. I know it will be great as well. I will let you know how it compares Smile

I checked it out...and I am pretty sure we will be stopping in there. I also want to try T-Rex because I am a nerd and I like cool atmosphere that I can't get here in StL.

Looks like a great plan Pandl! We love Fulton! Don't be discouraged by some of the bad reviews you see about the Sci-Fi, it's not that bad! I think alot has to do with the experiences people have had there, and not the dinner itself. Just don't go in expecting a nice big comfy car for 2 in a romantic atmosphere, that's not going to happen. We never had bad food or service there.

That is so good to hear...everyone trashes the place, but it sounded like so much fun.

It is a shame that it won't be romantic with a nice comfy car...I wanted an excuse to make-out with my husband like we were teenagers Wink I am sure we will have fun anyways.

Thanks for the encouragement.

We have done Sci Fi before and the atmosphere alone is reason to go. It gets a bad rap but it is not that bad at all. My main issue..well it is not Even an issue..more of a head scratcher...is to me the atmosphere doesnt really match the dinner menu. I remember going and totally wanting a big juicy cheeseburger or something and the closest thing they had was a steak in some weird red wine sauce. This was about six years ago though so maybe..hopefully..the menu has changed.

I feel weird quoting myself..but..I just went and looked up the menu on The DFB and perhaps they heard my whining because it looks like a bunch of sandwiches and burgers now. Yum!

I think DS might love this place..hm...

So we are officially down to the 1 month mark!

Not only that but our tickets came in the mail this weekend!!! It is amazing how much you spend on a little slip of paper Smile I immediately had to find a place for them so my dog wouldn't decide they were something good to eat.

I can't believe all of the planning and waiting is coming to an end soon. It will be here before we know it.

Your trip sounds so fun and exciting! I agree with Bella, too! Sci-fis atmosphere is worth it and it's not all that bad!

So just found out that P has planned a special surprise for me Monday night of our trip!!!

I have no idea what it is and I am sure excited (as this is the only thing he has planned the entire trip) All I know is I am not allowed to look at the credit card statement until after the trip and it starts at 8:45pm. My mind is reeling with the possibilities.

He is already threatening to spill the beans and if he does I will be sure to let you all know. I really hope he doesn't...I really love surprises, but I am so controlling I don't give him the opportunity to surprise me very often Smile

It is only 19 days...next week is our last full week of work until the trip. Hopefully time is going to fly by.

We only have 3 days until we leave on our Disney Trip. This past week has been the most agonizing wait yet. I guess I did too good of a job planning the vacation, because we have nothing left to do. I am sitting around twiddling my thumbs trying to think of more things to plan and research. How do you all deal with the anticipation...it is torture.

Hopefully the next three days at work will fly by and we will be on our way to Disney before we know it!
