Evening EMHs

Does anyone even bother with evening Extra Magic Hours anymore? I find them to be more crowded than a regular park time. The morning ones work for me, but the night ones tend to be a waste of time IMO.

I think it depends on the park and how late the park is open til. We had EMH at MK last summer and with the late regular hours and 3 extra EMHs the park was open until 2:30 am. It was FANTASTIC!! It was like having the park to ourselves...it kind of gave a sense of what it must be like for the folks staying in the Castle Suite. The bonus was that as we were getting ready to exit the park, ALL of the characters were at Cindy's Golden Carousel to bid us goodnight. Unbelievable...you NEVER see them all in one place

We definitely make more use of Morning EMH than Evening EMH. Like Millie we've generally had some good experiences with the really late evening ones, but what tends to happen is we get tired around midnight and wind up giving up before the really un-crowded part. waiting

Tired?!?! DH and I always say, "We'll sleep when we're dead!!" Seriously though, I'm usually in asleep by 10 every night, but at WDW I can keep going until 3 AM!! We don't want to waste any of those precious WDW minutes!

I love late EMH! I'm not a morning person at all. I will get up early in Disney if I must but I do prefer late EMH.

I used to have a sign on my truck (in the window) that said "I'll sleep when I'm dead". Was fitting since I worked until the wee hours of the morning at the time. We have no problem getting up earlier or staying out later where the World is concerned. I figure if I can get up for work when I'm dead tired, I can CERTAINLY do so for a day of great fun and memories. We have never gotten to take advantage of EMH since we've never stayed on property. Seems to me though, like so many other things at WDW you can really make the most of it through planning. I've forecasted the crowd levels for each park, on each day, even each part of the day. I'm pretty confident we'll be able to make good use of the extra time in the parks. I've only planned one EMH visit when I expect it to be fairly busy and that's Epcot on Friday evening. Would not have been my first choice, but it's the only evening EMH at Epcot while we're there. We'll be visiting each park at least twice (MK three times) using four park days and MVMCP. I can work another park day into the schedule if need be, but I don't think it's going to be a problem. Being that this trip is intended to be at a more leisurely pace, I am quite looking forward to the mid-day break for transportation and/or a meal. Historically we do one park per day from open to close. While this allows you a lot of time in the parks, it can be pretty exhausting by the end of the trip.

Ha! Good question! We DO use evening EMH at Epcot -- mostly for touring World Showcase, which we don't explore as much as we'd like during the day. We also use evening EMH for AK all the time. The park is beautiful at night, and we can usually ride Kali River Rapids, EE, and Primeval Whirl as much as we want.

Right there with ya Annie. Going to AK EEMH on Wednesday. Crowds should be rather sparse.

You can usually just stay on Kali River Rapids over and over most nights during EMH.

This is a great point. While MK evening EMHs can sometimes be crazy, the other parks have very different complexions at night.
