Expections for Times of Year

When you're visiting WDW, is there a certain time of year during which you expect to have the best time?

I used to really enjoy January, but recently it's been quite crowded. I know MrHub and Scrappy have consistent luck with it. What time of year do you think gives you the best chance for a stress-free, fun trip?

September/October is hard to go wrong -- MNSSHP, Food & Wine Festival and great weather.

cdub, I'll agree with the first two, but when we were down in Sept, it was to stinking hot for us. We did have a great time for our 30th anniversary but the humidity was terrible, and everyone was saying that.

I blame climate change! I think the last Sept we went it was too hot too. But I remember years ago that Sept was fairly temperate. I guess you take a risk that in September that the miserable August weather hasn't passed. It's also possible that I always go later in the month and/or I'm just plain wrong.

laugh Well, that is always a possibility!

Our September trips way back when have been pretty hot, though. It's a good excuse for getting to the pool in the middle of the day, and the crowds usually have tapered off by September, but these days, it seems to always be crowded, right?

I've really stopped expecting anything. Now I just cross my fingers. I'm oftentimes surprised in both directions when it comes to crowds, which is probably my #1 determiner of enjoyment.

I've heard of expectations, but what's an "expection" (spell checker flagged it with a squiggly red underline)?

April 1982 and May 2006 were hot and humid; October 2000 was nearly perfect weather (sunny or mostly sunny and mid-80s F); and November 30 to mid-December (2003-2007) were variable with temperatures from low 30s to low 80s F.

Our last trip in the third week of September (which should have been pretty mild weather) was unbearably hot and humid. We still had an awesome time though. Also, crowds were very light for the most part. To my recollection, Food and Wine was the only time crowds were an issue (more than I would consider normal).

I've been hearing a lot of people talking about how hot September was.

Jan and I have been there in all the seasons you Yankees have. In Florida it gets chilly at times in Dec. but not so bad that I have to shovel out the driveway. If we had to pick a month not to go to Disney I think it would be December. It can get nasty cold there for us. Also it seems to be the most crowded. Of course we never go to the theme parks so all we know about is the resorts.

We always enjoyed December, but have been finding it quite crowded lately as well
