Favorite Room Requests in Disney Hotels

What are your favorite room requests for Disney World hotels?

In AKL, we always request Jambo House 3rd floor on the Zebra trail! Now that Arusha Savanna is going to cost more, I wonder if we'll pay the extra!

In Beach Club, we like a room close to Epcot Smile

When we're at Pop, we always request the 70's 'cause it's quiet!

At Coronado Springs, we request the Cabanas section.

At Wilderness Lodge, we ask for a room that opens onto the lobby, cause then you're close to everything and we never find it too noisy even with all the craziness from Whispering Canyon.

How about you?

At Pop Century you MUST request a room away from the pools. It's imperative.

I've never been before, but when I booked Pop for September I've requested a lake view, and not on the ground floor. Fingers crossed! I would kind of like the actual building I'm in to be a surprise for when I arrive though

I would love to stay in AKL! Do the types of animals you see vary depending on the room you request? I'm hoping to get a good nosey at AKL when I go to Boma (not that I'm even within my 180 days to make a reservation yet, but my stomach will INSIST I try Boma after all I've heard about it!).

Peg. The different rooms have views of different savannas and there are different animals on the different savannas. I've never seen a huge variation, but there are definitely some minor differences. Plus on some days some animals are more active than others.

It's a great idea to go check everything out while you're there for dinner. There are observation decks for all the savannas I believe. You can just walk down the (very long) halls and sit on them and watch the giraffes.

We stayed around the computer pool in the 90's section of POP and it was amazingly quiet.

We always like 80's building in POP...and the Fantasia building in ASMo. In POR we like the Mansions and then at AKL we'll take anywhere..we're just glad to be there.

And yea..that's the only places we've stayed.

We found the same.

I wonder if that pool is less rambunctious or if we just had an unlucky experience.

Maybe because it's because it's not as fun shaped as the bowling pin or flower?

The 80's rooms we have stayed at have been near the pool & they have been pretty quiet. The Computer Pool doesn't seem to get as much action as the Hippy Dippy.

Does anyone know where I can get a room number map of POR. I want to stay at one of the mansions that have a king size bed with a view of the river.

Hey Jazmine! Welcome to the boards! I was hoping the Port Orleans fan site would have one, but I didn't see it. I think there's a link on here somewhere to the guy who has all the room maps.

I'm impressed that you all stay at such variety of resorts!
I've stayed at Yacht Club/Saratoga Springs (split trip), Beach Club/Fort Wilderness (split trip), and Old Key West twice.. and I'm like.. really not interested in trying any other place! lol.. how do you go from Old Key West to Pop Century? I'll just be thinking.. "man, if I were at OKW, it would be like....."

Haha it is hard to hop around once you have your favorite..but when budget is a factor and you can go to POP or not at all..you pick POP!

I recommend awesome building 25 at POR... It is by the North Bus stop, which (in 2007) was the first one to be picked up clapping . It IS far away from the main building, though.

At Animal Kingdom Lodge my favorite room is a club level with pool view. Since we're DVC our rooms are always right off of the lobby, so we're very close to the lounge. This is my "spoil me" room.

I enjoy being in Conch Key with a Marina view at the Grand Floridian, you get the boats and the monorail going by, plus you can see the castle at the end of the walkway when walking back to the room at night, super magical!

I put in a request for this year's trip to get a room in the 50s section at Pop. I loved walking passed the giant statues of Lady and The Tramp last year.

When we stay at Port Orleans Riverside, we always request the "mansion" section. We love the antebelum style buildings. Looks like you've stepped into "Gone With the Wind".

We try to be away from pools (which can be noisy). When we've stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and Yact Club, we request a room away from the lobby and all that commotion.
