Favorite Shopping Spot in World Showcase

I dream of traveling a lot internationally...but I'm afraid I haven't actually done much international travel. So as silly as it sounds, that's one reason I love Epcot - for World Showcase. I get to meet people from each of the countries, peak into shops featuring goods from different places, and generally just pretend - just a leetle - that I'm in a different part of the world.

What's your favorite shop to pop into in World Showcase? I love them all, but the Japanese department store seems to me to be one of the more immersive experiences.

My favorite? Oh wow that is hard! I like all of them so much! I love at the futball stuff in the UK. And the perfumes and colognes is France. The Japanese is so different which I like.

My top is probably Germany, just the entire pavilion. It is probably the one I spend the most time in! Of course once other peopel start talking about their favorite, I may change my mind!

Did we spend a lot of time in Germany? I don't remember anything there other than Biergarten! For shopping, I do like the cologne shop in France - I got Play before it became publicly available - great smell!

Japan for me. I don't do much actual buying so Japan always seems to have the most stuff to look at.

Japan, Japan, Japan! I could spend HOURS in there. I think I have actually.

I honestly spend more time in the "traditional part" with all the sake sets and stuff..and Dave spends most of his time looking at the action figures. Oh..men.

SUCH a tough question! I love the Japan store, too -- someday I'm going to have a kimono made...someday... Plus -- socks with toes -- doesn't get better than that.

Also like shopping through China's huge department store. They have some seriously beautiful silk jackets that I can't stop myself from trying on.

Also enjoy browsing through the Mexico pyramid and the jewelry and masks in Italy...

I haven't spent NEARLY enough time in China. I'm not sure I even knew that was there. In fact, I didn't know about the back part of Japan - where they sell the sake - until my cousin dragged me back there - um k willingly, I admit - to have some sake during a F&W a couple of years back (that was after black and tans at the Rose and Crown. But I digress.)

I still love to go through the UK shops, too.

I love China as well..I forgot about that place! Last time we were there was the summer of the Olympics and they had a ton of that stuff..although normally I feel like I am going to break everything in there.

I'm not sure which would be my favorite...I did enjoy the Japanese department store...never saw so much Hello Kitty stuff in my life!! Oh, and I really enjoyed the marketplace in Morocco -- that was fun! Unfortunately I did not get to shop in Mexico -- but I've done the real thing so I didn't feel compelled LOL laugh

Now, if you ask my daughter...well...it would be China hands down! I thought her head might explode when she saw all the pandas!! I can't believe I was able to get out of there relatively unscathed! biggrin

That is a definite -- especially since tequila is my favorite! awesome

And, yes, she did get one panda....which I tried to make as small as possible since we already have a huge collection here at home...and somehow she went for it!! LOL

awesome

I remember when the Panda exhibit came to us when I was a kid and just loved it. I just think they are the coolest animals. They are so caring to their cubs (I think they are considered cubs?) but also know how to kick butt too! And pugs... well... PUGS ROCK

I don't think we shopped in China. The only stores we really went into were the ones in Japan. All the others we just pretty much walked past. I plan on maybe that evening we get to ourselves if we get finished with the boardwalk and world showcase is still open, walking around there and looking at the shops since that's not something that the kids really love to do

Unfortunately I have a feeling shopping during this up coming trip is going to be a nightmare. Brooklin is going to want everything.

Maybe the South Africa Outpost should have a pick your own rock and keep the diamond in side.
